I really don't see what all the fuss is, if you don't like it, don't buy it! They're making cars for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm actually very interested in this car. While I'd go for a Touring version over it, BMW has decided not to offer it in 335 guise and I won't buy it as a 328. So, this is the next best thing if they offer it with the 6 cylinder. If it is offered in the US as a 335i xDrive M Sport, I'll consider it over the 550. (Mainly becuase I have kids and dogs and the hatch would be very useful. Also, I'm hoping the reports that it has more rear seat legroom than the 5 are true.) It will be interesting to how much taller it is than the standard 3 series in a side to side photo.
IMO, it looks a lot better, even under camo, than the 5 Series GT, which is awful. |

* Ugly ones * That are less useful than a model that already exists (the touring) * That costs money that COULD have been spent testing a manual transmission touring. Seriously, do we really need a sedan, touring, GT, coupe, and gran coupe? Why do the Gran Coupe and GT even exist? The GT is less useful than the touring, and ditto the GC over the sedan. If BMW doesn't think the standard sedan is stylish enough, then why did they build it in the first place? Seems like they should have picked the styling of the sedan or the GC, and just made *one* of the two. Seems pretty simple to make one attractive sedan, one coupe, and one touring. But I guess that's why I don't work for BMW. |

So if BMW release an F34 330D M Sport xDrive then they'll probably have made their best all round car ever ...

I think I will like it, but 4 Gran Coupe would get my money if I had to choose (altough 3GT would be more practical).
About this 3GT - bonnet is flatter than on sedan/touring. Hump has almost disappeared. |

I think that's camera angle. They're not stupid, they'll be sharing the front end between the cars. Why create more cost?

I personally don't like it, don't hate it. There are BMW fans that don't quite want a big SAV but need more room than a regular sedan and more "stylish" than hatchbacks. I mean I never understood 5GT until I started seeing them literally everyday and I thought "hm, some people must've need those cars. Cool" PS. For those saying SAV's look ugly, I vehemently disagree! I think X5 and X6 are two of the best looking BMW's currently. And quite honestly I love every single model that BMW has currently.. 3, 5, 6, 7, X's and my 1 But we don't care about looks do we? We just want an Ultimate Driving Machine. |

GT models are massively popular in Asian markets. You would see 10+ 5 GTs in Beijing, Shanghai everyday, and they are EXPENSIVE there. Asians and Westerns has very different taste in terms of Atheistic and typology.

The more I look at the pictures of the GT, the more I'm hoping that the driver is a very short man. If not, then this version will be a good bit taller (and less desirable) then the sedan. I can't really tell by looking at the comparisons. What do you guys think?
