Depends on the rest of the exhaust system only. The DP is nothing but a pipe.

They're all going to sound the same.

With a down pipe, you always want the biggest and freest flowing one u can get, so go catless.

Any CEL errors or O2 sensor errors with downpipe installation?

These were very common on the E9X.

Catless will almost certainly give you a CEL (most people run a tune that clears it automatically). HFC seems to not give them to most people but I have a feeling there are people out there that have gotten them or will in the future.

I have the ER cat less downpipe. Honestly the best investment for the car besides a tune. The car smells while in idle and when you really get on it. The smell of the exhaust puts a smile on my face every time. As far as sound goes its ALOT louder, downshifts will put a smile on your face from the gurgling and crackling of the exhaust note. don't be a newb pull the trigger and get it. And it will throw a cell if you don't have the JB stage 2.

I laughed at this, but can't say I disagree with anything.

I've been holding off on getting one my own for some reason (mostly install and want to chat with the service folks to see if they'll whine about any future warranty issues if I popped one of those on).

I'm still leaning toward the challenge HFC solely due to hopes the smell is virtually nonexistant with that version.

Already have a JB4 Stage 2 that really wants to move to a new map...

that is sick bro! I should get mine tomorrow. If I can ask, how much did it cost you to install and how long was the install?

I don't mind the smell much, it's not a deal breaker. But damn thats sick its much louder. How do the upshifts sound on the 8AT? Is the banging/popping sound louder when you upshift?

the upshifts are crazy, very loud pop and bang, puts a smile on my face all the time as far as install i paid a bmw tech at my dealer $150 to do it.. install is very simple. Took about and hour and 15 mins.
