They read this forum to see excitement so that they can price it. To me it will be too much to justify especially for M3.
.p.s. However if it is only slightly higher over CP, it will be a success

The beautiful 8 series is a surprise, given other 'directions', as is the relatively unmolested M3. Those almost make up for some of the other fashion crimes shown above - WTF were they thinking with that x7? (I'm betting s/t like: "can't we somehow totally f-up the curves on this one?"). Hoping this isn't really what they will look like, 'cause I know I'm going to be seeing a lot more of these than the 8 series.

The 3er Touring replaced by X2 and X3. If both dominate? Touring will be gone quicker.

I know. My money will be gone quicker too. I'm sure Munich won't miss me though.

That 6 series GT just looks odd.

So even though the press release said "BMW Group will showcase five electric vehicles at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show", it seems as though they really meant electrified. Apparently the one of those five they were calling the "World Premier vehicle" was the i8 roadster which isn't truly an electric vehicle. I suppose we will have to wait until the 2018 auto show season (post summer 2018) to see any new pure electric BMW be it concept or production.

I went to the Auto Show today. Meh.
I saw the X7 -- horrible. And the new iVision electric tugboat. I did not see the 8 series. And the Z4 wasn't there. The i8 roadster was there with its cheap looking badging but there were no details and no i8 coupe. No Alpinas. No M4s. The show seemed to be a budget-class delight. No Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Ferrari's or Lamborghinis. Lots of $25-$35,000 cars for middle class Americans from the midwest. A complete waste of time. What gives?

Even with the high sticker price, I'd take an M3 CS in a heartbeat. However, I do wish they offered the MT as an option on the CS - while everyone knows it slows times down, I still enjoy the driver engagement side.

No Aston, Bentley, Lotus, Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls, etc. They would all occupy the Concourse Hall, now it's a GAS showroom. |

Though my wallet chose the updated M4 over a C63S, Mercedes has a much more satisfying line-up than BMW present day. I just had more fun perusing the MB exhibit over BMW which I found rather pedestrian in both design and offering.
From the 4x4 to the F1-powered supercar to the black series vehicles, they're doing a bang up job producing some variety here. Maybe my next car will be a benz which would be a first.
