New electronic issue
Took my 335i Msport in over a week ago to have some things looked at.
There was an in house "recall" for a software update. Didn't notice anything different after the update, except for a strange issue with audio/radio/satellite. Yesterday, I was driving along merely listening to some hard rock on the Octane channel on satellite. All of a sudden no audio, it just cuts out completely and the lcd screen goes black and "no signal detected" pops up for a couple of seconds then black screen. The screen then "reboots" and the BMW logo with graphics pops in. Satellite station info comes back but there is a weird symbol on the right of the stations with a dollar sign and something else. Still no audio though. I switch to FM and audio is working. Then tried the USB and it plays fine too. Back to sat and nothing. Then, screen goes black, "no signal found", reboot again. I put it on FM thinking maybe something happened with my sat subscription. Then, tried sat again, nothing, but now I can hear the FM station playing whil on the sat screen. Very odd. Back to FM screen, then screen flickers, audio goes dead, and "no signal found", black screen, reboot again. Shut the car off to try and reset everything, no good. I figured I'd make an appointment in the morning cause I NEED my audio working. But, I got up this morning, fire up the 335i to go to work and .... all is well and works normally, sat is on the station I had it on the night before it went crazy. Anyone else get something like this recently, perhaps after a software update? Or, anything like this ever in their F30? |

My friend, we all have been abducted at the same time. I took my car to the dealer this morning, and after verification, they just called me saying they don't see anything abnormal ... I don't believe it... am going to insist they look harder.... |

maybe it was just a glitch. If you hold the volume button in for 30sec the whole radio system shutsoff. Preset it again to reboot from scratch. The idrive computer like all car computers are slow pieces of shit. Nobody checks their specs or expects much from them, just expect to reset them once in a while.

RPM90,
I posted in this thread yesterday with some similar issues but nothing exactly like what you are describing. http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=679232
