Exterior mirrors fogged up

The exterior mirrors are supposed to be heated but whenever I drive into a parade (cold to warm) the mirrors fogged up. This does not happen with my 1M. Anyone has similar experience with their F30?

Nope. Garage is heated. Coming in from cold or going out into the cold there's no fogging.

They're only heated when you activate the defroster, which I'm assuming you did?

Mine work splendidly. It's been around -20C here for high temperatures all week, and there's always a good coating of frost when I park outdoors for even a few minutes. It's gone very quickly once the defroster is engaged.

Yeah my heated mirrors work a treat!

On US models, they work on the F30 "whenever the engine is running" which is the way they always used to work here until the e9x came along. With E9x, they only came on "under certain conditions". I'm glad we got them back all the time here. I'm also glad we never had to turn on our rear defrosters to make them work, I'm always paranoid about my rear tints.

I think I figured it out but need confirmation from other owners. When you put the car in ECO Mode, the exterior mirrors are not heated as much as when you are driving in normal COMFORT Mode. This is my observation testing with the two modes. I guess it make sense because in ECO mode the system is trying to cut back electrical use to save gas.

ECO mode, energy demands, battery condition, all managed these days, so some functions are not as we expect, even if they are all 'technically' working.
