I know, and it is unfortunate, but given the nature of the software, and the powers that be, there is little that can be done to rectify that. It seems sooner or later, every thread at some point becomes an avenue for software requests.

What PSdZData version are you using, and what is the car's I-Step Current?

Your car is at 2.50.3, which means you need 50.3 PSdZData.

Shawn, just joined. If you have the time to email links, I'm "rnoonan" at the Google email service. I will PM tomorrow assuming this post gets me cleared.

Anyone coding from a Mac? I saw there's a PDF for Mac tips, but just curious of anyone still active here is doing it.

Any suggests for a currently active, legit cable seller? Or, if needed, a source for the connector? I can solder and build, but would rather buy.

Thanks all for the great info. First BMW and so far thrilled, but would love to make many of the standard tweaks like ASS off by default.

Hi,

so, just wanted to check a couple of things.

When I try and connect, in the connect selection the VIN is greyed out.

Now it says No ZGW Available.

Any ideas?

Do you at least see any Targets in the Connection Window?

Is the car engine running?

Hi Shawn

Had to register the dll.

Never had to before, always worked with the default VIN shown after installation.

But found one of your posts regarding the same problem.

Now in the connection its listing my vin at least.
Wonder if this might make a difference when coding?

I assume you are referring to the MSWINSCK.OCX, but if that was the issue, you would have had a very specific error regarding this, but you mentioned no such thing, except to say Connection via VIN was Greyed out.

You wonder if what will make a difference when coding?

Here the post I was referring to.

As for an error message, all I saw was No ZGW Availble, that was it.

and the ZGW Search tool has never worked for me.
I meant with the coding thing, here:

It always listed a different VIN to my car.
But still connected OK, just some of the things I have coded, dont seem to work properly, and I thought it might be something to do with the wrong VIN.

guess not though.

I'm at a total loss here. I have never, ever seen Connection via VIN display a different VIN from ZGW Gateway VIN. Not sure what you had going on.

If you get a coding error, let me know.

Nope,

always showed a different VIN.

I thought it was a hard coded VIN seeing as the Software is boot legged.

Only after just registering the DLL's is it now showing the correct VIN.

I don't know when NBT was added to F30 builds for every region, and you cannot tell from the build sheet, as both CIC and NBT are same option code 609.

If you have E-Sys, it is very easy to know. The ECU will be either HU_CIC or HU_NBT, which is self explanatory.

But, you can also easily tell, just by looking at the screen. This is a small picture comparison; however, the difference is immediately recognizable just from how the selection highlight differs:

F30 Automatic Cruise Control initial following distance

On the F30 (2014 at least) you can code the ICM ECU, under '3000 Daten', option C_Abstandsstufe_init to Stufe_1 and your default ACC lead distance will be the minimum instead of the maximum.

I know there's already a known code for the F10 that does this but the F30 is just a little bit different.

Does anyone know what FZD is all about?

My car has started throwing airbag warning lights and codes. The dealer first re-programmed the car (giving me a nice fresh install to re-code only the my favorite changes!) and then said the FZD module is bad.

I found an "FZD_07" module in the loaner -- but it look as boring as hell.

Any ideas on why this thing is part of the airbag inoperable warning system?
