Would coding show up at a service and affect the warranty?
Maybe you'll have some luck finding someone if you start a new thread asking for help.

I have never heard of coding affecting warranty, and the general opinion is that it won't, but i wouldn't want to tell you that's 100% guaranteed.

What PSdZdata version are you using?

Hi Shawn,

Its 4.7.0 -20121025-1801

I used this on my MY14 car (this is my Son's car) so I assumed it would be OK, but I guess you're going to tell me differently!

Thx

The Model Year is irrelevant, so that is not an assumption you can make. What matters only is the last version of ISTA/P used to program the car. A 5 year old car programmed yesterday would need the latest PSdZData.

And your PSdZData is not 4.7.0. This is what is displayed under E-Sys => Help => About, and it has nothing to do with the actual PSdZData version your are using. This has to do with the version of PSdZ binaries used in E-Sys version.

In any event, the [C012] Missing CAFD error means you need new PSdZData.

PM sent.

Hi Shawn,

Just wanted to check -
I've downloaded the latest PSdZData files.
I've already got E-SYS 3.23.4 installed, but obviously with the wrong version PSdZData.

Do I just delete everything in \psdzdata\ and copy the 7 folders from the new PSdZData download?

Thx.

Delete current psdzdata folder and replace with the new one.

EBT working great!

Big thanks to Shawn and Teaston!

The guide is great & I got EBT up and running in minutes on my 2013 F30 Bus' Media

I had an initial issue with no 'Dist' folder so model was not showing up but sorted it and followed the guide to the letter.

E-Sys, psdzdata files & install/coding guides can be obtained from @shawnsheridan PM him a request, he is the coding master around these parts and a very helpful chap, also find him and lots of coding info in this thread: http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696777

This guide also applies to Professional Media equipped cars. It is not yet known if Non Nav (Radio Professional) cars have the Combox, if anyone can confirm this either way please let me know so i can update this guide.

First follow the PDF guide that came with E-Sys 'E-Sys - Installation'

Then follow the PDF that also came with E-Sys 'How to change FA in F-series car' but with these changes/additions

1. At step 2. select F020 in top window and check bottom option 'connection via VIN.

2. On step 3 you need to press 'save' after pressing 'read' then save file as any name you want, then the 'edit' button will be enabled.

3. On step 6 change 6NH to 6NS

4. Once all steps are complete: go back to expert mode, Coding =>
Click 'read' under vehicle order =>
click Read SVT =>
right click FA and select activate FA =>
Right Click on HU_CHAMP2 (HU_NBT for NBT Pro Media) (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) =>
Select CODE
Wait for 'Abarbeitung beendet' which means finished completed.

Right-Click on CMB_Media (step not required for NBT pro media) (again the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) =>
Select CODE
Again wait for Arbarbeitung beendet

5. It is possible on pre March 2014 Business Media (March onwards have full voice control from factory i believe) to get basic voice control (voice dialling only, no dialling from contact list, only names that you have stored by saying 'store name' and say 'store' after number is confirmed, or you can dial numbers. You will need a valid EST Token for this part. I do not yet know if it is possible to get full voice control, i have tried adding 620 to the FA. NBT Professional Media should automatically get full voice control.

To get the basic voice control you now go to the cmb_media cafd file, right click it and select edit FDL, then search for SVS_EIN_AUS and change from Nicht_Aktiv to Aktiv, save, go back, select that cafd again and click 'code FDL'

6. Click disconnect, Done!

In idrive go to 'telephone' => 'Bluetooth telephone' => highlight your phone => press option or click right => go down and select 'configure Bluetooth' =>
tick all the options => go back => go up to your phone and select it => tick audio

now go to 'media' => 'external devices' => your phone will now be an option to play audio from! Either change track back or forward with idrive or control
from your phones screen.

Of course you will also now have Album art from USB stick and iphone through lightning cable, and also full control of music library from iphone in idrive using lightning cable.

Followed this guide (massive thanks) and having got the coding files from shawnsheridan all worked no problem.

The only difference to the guide addendum at the beginning of this thread is that you apply the code on HU_ENTRY instead of the HU_CHAMP2.

Didn't bother with Voice Control as I wasn't bothered with that and not sure if it would work or mess something up anyway.

Absolute result!

For the Non Nav car did you code '6NS' or '6NK' ?

It should be 6NK. 6NS is for NBT Head Units >=0713.

So quick question - does this EBT coding provide full voice control over Sat Nav, iPod, car controls, etc. with Pro Nav fitted cars?

No. I believe all MY14 pro navs come with full voice control, and some bus navs since march 14.

You can only add full voice by changing the head unit for one with a voice control activation code in it apparently.

I’m trying my fist attempt at connection in advance f coding experiments, so haven’t got a token yet.
i’m having some problems connecting to the car - the “connection via VIN” is greyed out so i can’t select it. any ideas?
the default is “connection via Gateway URL” and when i press connect, i get a successful connection message, bit when i try and “read Vehicle order” i get a “PDsZ error” error which says “Read FA Failed - possibly there is no FA stored in the VCR(CO60)

any ideas whats up?

thanks

I did a non nav F20 for a friend the other day and I coded '6NS' and it seemed to be ok, but he was in a rush and never really got to fully test it, so reason I asked was to see if he will end up having issues because I did 6NS instead of 6NK.
