Which oil for my car?
Hi all,
Real quick query, I've got a bog standard 320D N47 ED with 50k on the clock. The CBMS says I should change the oil at 62k miles but that would be 21k more miles which looks very dodgy. From the below link, which oil do you guys recommend. Couldn't care less about cost or MPG, just want the right oil for reliability and to avoid any chain issues etc. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-686-bmw-...l.aspx#Filter=[pagenum=1*ava=0]& Many thanks |

There was a recent thread (probably in the E90post diesel subforum, perhaps elsewhere) about oils for the diesels. The Motul would be my choice - nobody has anything bad to say about the 8100 product. Lots of people like the Castrol Edge (used to be BMW's OEM supplier.) Also, fuel filter change should be every third oil change - 30K-39K miles. |

Many will be running 18 - 20k miles in the UK on the CBS, unless you go for an interim oil change. |

Apologies, oil was changed at 41k so 62k is what is indicated as the next oil change.

Make sure its a BMW LL-04 certified oil for your Diesel
Easiest place to get is at the dealer when you pick up the OEM oil filter It will be the new Shell GTL oil.
