We'll have some more done here soon. We just had to catch up on some m3 production here first. Catless downpipes have been selling less than the HFC ones, so we initially made less to match demand.

I was bored this morning since my kids were sleeping in and decided to unplug the sensor that controls the left exhuast flap and make another video. It really smoothed out the cold start but seemed to quiet the idle. Not sure if I prefer it or not but I'm going to drive like this for a couple of days and might plug it back in...

Also, here are more pics to compare the stock DP and Challenge DP. You can really see how big, dumb, and restrictive the stock cat is...

I would be interested in seeing some flowbench results to actually measure the back pressure at various flow levels. If the stock cat is bigger, then there are more pathways through it for the exhaust to flow.

great pics, thanks for sharing!
Any CELs with this one? It looks VERY stock, it might be a great purchase for me, I just don't want to deal with a piggyback since I've got an extended warranty....

Interesting that you would ask b/c I weight EVERYTHING. But I do have a shatty scale so that's my disclaimer but hopefully the difference is acurate enough. The Challenge HFC DP weighed in at 4.5lbs and the stock DP was 7.8lbs. So about a 45% savings.

great posts...DP def sounds well worth the money! I'm hesitant of the CEL and voiding my Warranty...the warranty is the main reason I bought a brand new BMW.

Thats good news. Mike, how is the cabin ride w/ the HFC dp? Any louder in the cabin?

There are certain times in the cabin under specific acceleration or rpms that you can tell a difference but its NOT an issue or a deal breaker. It's very suttle nice to hear.

The reason I haven't bought a catback yet is b/c I probably have a customer ride w/ me once or twice a month and this car can NOT be loud or abnoxious in the cabin. This DP doesn't even come close to that.

Makes sense. I also do not want a cat-back atm. I think I'm going to try a muffler delete first, then do HFC dp and if its too loud then I'm going to go back to stock muffler w/ aftermarket tips + HFC dp. Probably have it plugged in too unless you think its better to have it unplugged.

I really WANT the Challenge catback but I just don't know if its practical for me and my needs. I think the muffler delete will be loud as all hell inside! I'm still on the fence about the plug. Start up is much better though!

That's one reason why I'm liking my meisterschaft so much. The ability to go from stock sound levels to wake the dead loud and any volume in between is great. Might want to look into it.

love the pop in sport with the HFC DP...godamn it's tempting.

Any CELs yet? I know I keep asking, but I realize it probably takes 2 tanks of gas for the ECU to cycle.

So I deleted my muffler. Haven't completed my custom muffler setup yet but it sounds amazing. The drone is an issue but hoping to fix that w/ the custom setup I'm thinking.

The change of sound in cabin is so minimal, I wouldn't be able to capture it on a video camera.
