Help identify JB4/harness
I was sold a “F-Series N55 w/EWG connector” by a forum member on bimmerpost. However, I’m thinking this is an E-Series box. I’m wondering if this can be used with my vehicle (2015 335i). If so, I have a few questions:
1) I'm assuming I need to at a minimum hook up the power and negative leads? 2) The harness does have the fuel connector but it is a 4-pin connector and my car connector is 3-pins, is there an upgrade available to make this work? 3) I purchased the OBDII connector separately but can't find where to plug this in on my harness, it does not seem to have the 4 pin small block connector. I do see the green and brown wires but not connector attached. I did purchase the bluetooth adapter so maybe I don't need OBDII? Thanks for your help guys! Pics are too small to actually tell but the box definitely looks like an E-series box.. The F-series are more rectangular and would have a OBD wire for a connector.
Return to seller as it won't work on your car. Mike |

So that's interesting. I hooked up the map and tmap. Got the obd2 hooked up. Also hooked up my wireless connect. I've flashed it with the f series latest firmware and it's responding through the BC stalk. Although when I ran the car the JB4 app is showing that it's switching to the safety map so you're probably right. And yes, it's the shorter square box, not the rectangular one.
