Think of it like this. Wall Street Journal's review of Lexus IS 350 today "In any event, the vibe of the IS is that of a car whose chassis feels overdeveloped while it waits for a more perfect powerplant to come down the line"

Upgrading the Speakers and not the amp is exactly the same. Does not matter how good the chassis is if the engine is not there.

Besides that, you'll ruin the BSW Speakers if the amp does not have enough power and runs into clipping easily.

I'd definitely go with the MPE. I have about 3,800 miles on the MPE with my Glacier Silver M Sport 335i and it sounds incredible. I only racked up about 1,500 miles or so on the MPE when I had my Estoril Blue F30.

Your example could not have shade light any better. Wow I can certainly relate to that, after having driven the IS350 I certainly know what your example means. At this stage I am now leaning towards the MPE, what you just said actually makes me want to wait until this BSW stage 1 is truly tried and tested.

Haha my profession is the butt of too many jokes so to hear someone say they want in makes me chuckle.

And I only have one 335i at the moment. My first Estoril Blue F30 was bought back by BMW because of the faulty electric cooling fan issue.

I thought of this thread today, at the time I had the base audio system in my 2013. My 2014 has the HK system and MPE. I love my music and I believe the HK system is great and I am satisfied with what it brings to the table. Now after about two months with the 2014 I can confirm that I do not think twice about opening up the windows and listening to the exhaust. Once speeds are too high then that's when I close the windows and may or may not decide to listen to the HK system instead. If you are ever in this dilemma go with the MPE or any exhaust of your choice.
