400 hp out of a 2.0 diesel ?

Engine and gearbox will have virtually zero life expectancy.

The entire engine is wrong for what you're trying to do. The engine was designed for large amounts of torque, moderate amounts of HP - because that's where a diesel like that is fuel-efficient, which was the other big design criteria.

Put that amount of hp through it, and you'll destroy the clutch and DMF - and if you swap the DMF for a single flywheel, then you'll push all that power and torque through to the gerbox, and break that.

Honestly, I think this is the wrong car to go for a project like that. You'd be better off starting with an E90 335d. Two extra cylinders plus an extra liter of displacement would help achieve your goal. That's if you want to stick with a diesel.
Otherwise a 335i or 340i will get you to those power levels with much less money and work.

Just my 2 cents...

Impossible. With a turbo, intercooler, injectors, DPF off and EGR off you can make 300hp max.

Just go for big torque and let us know how it goes. I personally would love to see someone modify these diesels!

I wonder how much more boost you'd be looking for in a turbo since the stock one does 26PSI (28 with stage 2 tunes). I'd want a turbo with less lag since ours is only a single scroll.

I was able to peak 29psi when breaking in my car. Now I have 45XXXKM and never see 29psi.

Well know this is an old thread.

Do you have any experience with it?

What else is needed to make it work as a daily driver?

What about clutch? Maybe camshaft?
