328i 6spd Downpipe Install And Video!!
So i should be installing it tm, just wondering i know i will have a check engine light. The big problem is i dont want to have the light come on and go to the dealership. So should i get the bms check engine light fix? How do you install the bms engine light fix. Let me know i am a little confused.
With the downpipe the car shouldn't have problems rite? Lolz. :confused0068 UPDATE Update after doing 25miles! Inside view Update 11/20/12

So the way the two O2 sensors work is that one reads before and one reads after the catalyst. Removing it causes the car to think it has a bad cat so most cars will throw a light but it should not result in limp mode or anything like that.
I personally wouldn't take a car with a downpipe into the dealership because it's really obvious looking unless you already know your service guy is cool but he probably isn't because you haven't shared enough ale with him. I have basically a fancy o2 sensor with its own computer that sends a fake value back to the ecu based on what it reads that I've used on a 2010 Porsche most recently so I know you can lie to the ECU to avoid the code all together but I'm not sure if a simple $25 O2 simulator can lie to the newer cars but that is the route I would look for. |

Thanks for the reply i just wasn't sure how it works on a turbo car... I had a g37 with full bolt ons and never had a issue. So i got 200 miles on the car i might just wait till 500 and do the down pipe? What you guys think? I really hate the autostart button it really annoys me! Hahha

aFe says "A check engine light will emitt and aFe recommends using a programmer but it is not necessary" in the product docs so they are saying the car will not go into limp mode or anything crazy but the light will be on.
I don't really believe in break-in but I never plan on keeping a car more than 20k miles so I personally would install the downpipe and everything you plan on having the first day you drive it :P Enjoy the car As for autostart, my dealer won't disable it but there is supposed to be a BMW instruction to the service departments to be able to do it if you check with them and get lucky. Short of that, coding for $20 was effective for me because autostart is annoying. |

You may be able to avoid a CEL by using a "mini cat O2 sensor CEL fix", from Big Daddies Garage (easy to find with Google). You would use this with the second (rear) O2 sensor. It's an O2 sensor adapter that has a built-in miniature catalytic converter. I haven't tried this on my F30, but I have used one for track days with my Exige, and it worked fine. This may be a cheaper and simpler solution than patching the ECU.
(no affiliation with Big Daddies Garage, just a satisfied customer) HTH,

Everything is stock!! No smell! It's getting colder so it deff back pops alot more when in first gear. Also pull harder but i have like 300 miles now. I dont really like to beat on my car and i am going to break it in properly.
