Thumbs down Lesson learned

Driving out of the city this evening on my way home, some mentally disturbed person walks out directly into traffic, right in front of me.

I stop in time (40km/h speed limit in CBD).

My mistake at this point is to blare my horn, as he then turns, glares at me, rants something and kicks the front of my car, before proceeding to walk across another three lanes to the ire of others.

I thoroughly checked my car out when I get home and there's a slight scuff to the silvered part of my right kidney grill, but otherwise no other damage or marks.

So lesson learned is next time, let the freak continue to walk and allow discretion to be the better part of valour. Unless it's safe to pull over and beat the snot out of him.

That sucks mate, good thing its just the grille. There are some nutters around. Discretion generally is the better part of valour, but then again, some people are clearly just asking for it

Performance grilles will look great on a MW sport.

The clarity of hindsight to realise he was a nutter before I blew my horn, not after, would be a good place to start I thought.

That came later. There's a good reason I named this thread what I did. When he kicked my car I was ready to do some kicking of my own.

Never the case. You don't know what 'weapon' he may have concealed or how violent he may turn out to be.

My first ever car accident was when a woman didn't look, or give way going in to a round-about and t-bone'd my car (a Fairmont Ghia at the time). Once we pulled over, the first thing I did was get of my car to make sure she was okay and she put her windows up and locked her door because she thought I was going to attack her. I'm not a small bloke but I don't think I looked intimidating.

Conversely, I once beeped at someone who cut me off and he pulled straight over and got out of his car and started coming towards mine yelling abuse, so I got out of the car. He quickly turned around, got back in his car and drove off. I just suspect he had a sudden growth of his balls when he thought he could abuse another motorist in their car but once the other person was prepared to confront him, he lost his nerve.

Piss off, some people are a backpfeifengesicht. Which I'm happy and capable to oblige.

One time two semi trailers were trying to bully me on pennant hills road, so I stopped and reversed into one of them and it gave me immense satisfaction. Unfortunately having a new car sucks in that respect, but for the love of god keep something in there in case something happens

was walking in the queen st mall today when I recognised the dickhead from this escapade about two meters in front of me. I keep trying to tell myself I took the high road, but to be honest I couldn't think of the excuse to tell plod why I started a fight in a public mall
