Lowered with 20's and some other MODS
I got my alpine white with red interior 3 GT about a month ago and immediately started searching for aftermarket parts. The car being so new, I couldn't find any parts nor any information on wheel specs. After weeks of research, I decided to order parts hoping it to workout. Just had all the parts installed last weekend and everything worked out perfect.
List of Mods: Black roof Black kidney grill Black spoiler and reflectors Weisslicht spektrum corner & fog light Lowered Stance SC6 20's Carbon Fiber side Mirror cap I haven't seen any other 3 GT on the road yet. I love it when people stop me and ask what kind of a car this is. So far only complaint I have is this long very high pitch beep or buzz I hear once on a while. Seems to be a common issue with the F30s. Anyone else have this issue? Last edited by randone76; 04-08-2014 at 06:22 PM.. |

here are the wheel and tire specs:
20 x 9 +35 front 20 x 10.5 +45 rear 245/35/20 front 285/30/20 rear I used H&R sport springs to lower the car. With this setup the wheels sit flush with the fenders both front and rear...no gap!! No rubbing issues at all and no modification was done on the fenders. |

Looks awesome. Where did you get the black kidney grill for the GT?

Love the stance you've achieved with the drop: it's how the GT should have rolled off the line. Did you use H&R's springs for the F30/F31 xDrive or go with F34 2WD springs? Any issues bottoming out?

What interior color did you opt for? Is that the red leather? Hard to tell from those night photos. On another note, seeing that you are in Orange County, I'm surprised you haven't seen any other 3GTs on the road (assuming you're referring to Orange County, California). I'm up the road in LA and have seen numerous on the Westside...either buzzing around the Southbay where I live or on my way to/from Santa Monica where I work. During the 8 week wait for my car, I saw one every other day on average. And no not the same one over and over again. Black, mineral grey, estoril blue, midnight blue, white, glacier silver...mostly m-sport, but a few luxury line. That said, I'm sure it helped that I was definitely on the look out for 3GTs while I was waiting. Although I noticed them frequently during that period, I've only noticed one other 3GT in the 12 days since I picked up my car (m sport glacier silver 335i GT)! |

I went with the F31 Xdrive springs. When I was searching for h&r springs, I found out that in European applications on hr springs, the part number was the same on F31 and F34 on the 2wd. The F34 Xdrive wasn't listed at all, so I figured F31 Xdrive springs would be compatible with F34 Xdrive. Not only the h&r springs, but even the european Eibach applications showed same part number for the F31 and F34s. So far I haven't noticed any bottoming out issues. It is a bumpier ride for sure, but I'm used to h&r spring rides. Had them on my E46 and E63.

The roof, spoiler and kidney grills are gloss black vinyl. I didn't want anything permanent in case I go for a different look later on. |

I really like what you did with your GT !
why didn't you just white out the front side markers instead of black ? How did you smoke the right lights ? Spray paint?

I have a mineral white GT I just took delivery off 2 weeks ago and I am looking at rims right now. I don't think I can go the 20's in my area because of bad road conditions. I think your car looks great! I am not going to lower mine but I really like your vinyl work. We have a great vinyl business locally and I think I may try him. Thanks for the great ideas! Awesome Car.

Nice, wanting to do about the same...looking into getting parts of the car wrap in black. Still deciding on the specific black color. Great Job
