Resistance kickdown point

A few days ago I accidentally noticed a point of resistance during a kickdown. After pushing it beyond this point, the engine shifted back and I think it even went higher into the revs before shifting up again. Since this is my first bimmer: is this normal, standard? Either way: I like it

First BMW?
Sounds like this is your first automatic.

Yes, it's normal and standard, very happily.

Not all auto have a resistance at kickdown though, that's a nice touch if that's the case.

The kick down doesn't happen in sports+ if you have it. It's fully manual in that mode. Fyi

Great wheels on your car. Can you give details? Also do you have the standard Sportline wheels for sale by any chance?

I have both for sale. The 20's are oem 6 series style 356's and are a gorgeous wheel. 245/35 front and 275/30 rear. I also have the sport line wheels with only 200 miles including everything for sale. 100% perfect condition. Thanks for the compliment

The resistance is always there as its a physical thing. In sport+ it won't downshift or up shift unless you do it yourself. just to clarify.
