she broke when I got her, she broke when I am leaving her
some of you might recall, my 2013 328 broke the first hour of ownership.
When I signed the paperwork, she had 8 miles on the odometer, drove her 30 miles home...had a little dinner and decided to go for another drive....thats when the transmission gave out and crapped on me. 2 weeks later I got the car back good as new! its been a pretty trouble-free 3 year ownership. I added a BMS tune, did some coding.....no issues at all. until it was time to replace her..... on my way to a car dealership....i was 3 miles away and the power cut out. i was stuck stranded on the side of the highway. had to get towed. the problem was the fuel pump. we've come full circle. she arrived on a flat bed and she left on a flat bed.

It's kind of silly that someone revived the thread which you talked about the initial malfunction within the last week.
What did you/are you replacing it with? |

i must say, a huge shout out to Park Ave BMW for taking care of me...more specifically Carlos the tow truck driver.
My car broke down as I was coming off the NJ Turnpike....i was about 500 feet from the toll booth. BMW Roadside put my wrong location on the service order (thankfully i caught it) and i called the driver directly to let him know. he tells me he cant pick me up because its NJ Turnpike and there are rules about allowing ONLY tow trucks contracted with NJ Turnpike to get you (this is very important to know). i told him (nicely) there was no way i was going to pay $300+ dollars to tow a car that i am returning the next week...especially when i HAVE roadside. i will push the damn car across the toll booth myself. He said sit tight, im on my way. he shows up, inspects the situation....and tells me lets get this thing on the flat bed FAST. we get it on...we roll through the toll booth and then he pulls over to tie it down. it took no more than 2 minutes. On the way back, its 7:45...the dealership closes at 8. he calls a lady at the desk to have her prepare a loaner for me. i text her my insurance info and she had the car waiting for me when i got there, even after they had closed the service center.

That's hilarious "...broke when I got her, broke when leaving...". I mean probably not funny to you at the time, but man I just wish they'd be more reliable as a brand. Just cannot have it all I guess. Good luck with the new car, I absolutely love clean and sleek interior, the dash, and most important, no iPad looking navigation screen. |

all cars have their issues. nothing is without fault. its just the luck of the draw. when the car broke the day i got it, i honestly wasnt that annoyed. even though i couldnt get it into neutral and needed THREEE tow trucks to finally get it moved (no one had skates and i didnt want to slide the car). i kept my cool and in the end the dealership gave me $1,000 and a ton of BMW apparel to keep me happy. and then after that i had zero issues
thank you for the kind words. I used to have a regular XF and a bunch of XJ's....i think the XJ's are absolutely amazing, but the current XJ is no different than the XJ that recently finished its lease....so i decided to purchase instead of lease this time (to be able to switch whenever i wanted)....there werent any XJR's that were in my price range so i went with the next best thing, the XFR.
