If it gets on a WW boat then it will go up to Germany first then to the states. That takes longer than the MOL boats. Plus you have to account for the days that from US port to dealer + prep. The boat that left today will take almost 1 month to get to the states and that is not including getting to the dealer.

What's your boat name? Mine does go to Brunswick, GA, but it doesn't scheduled to go West Coast. What was your boat schedule looked like? Does it say Oxnard at the end of it?

Has any one had any experience with dealer trades. More specifically trading a car that is already on a dealers lot. I found a car with the same option + some $500 of another option(s). The other dealer is in another state and is about 800 miles. Not sure if dealers usually trade that far. Will the dealer charge for transport? I would not mind paying for the additional option if it means getting my car sooner. I think another 1.5 months is the minimum i would have to wait to get the car i ordered.

I know dealer can pull new car inventory as long as both parties agree. Used cannot be touched but new cars should be fair game for dealer trade. Hope this helps

800 number still says the car is at the port of exit. Called my CA, the car did make it on the Victorious Ace. ETA at the Brunswick port is 12/12/12...
I hope to get the car before Christmas...

So I asked my CA why my car is so delayed and she said she called BMW and it's backed up being shipped to the port from the factory due to Hurricane Sandy......how that effects shipping logistics in South Africa blows my mind....

Interesting. I have no doubt the storm messes things up all the way across the globe. All these shipping lines/routes are tied together. You delay something for two weeks in NJ, and it can impact worldwide logistics for 4+ months. Maybe a ship got stuck, unable to offload, which delayed another ship and so on, until it messes up something in SA.

If you've ever had a flight delayed/cancelled for bad weather 1500 miles away, you can relate to what happened with shipping traffic + hurricane Sandy

thats nice and all. but my car was always scheduled to arrive at the Baltimore port. my question is how can hurricane Sandy effect the transportation of my car from the factory IN SOUTH AFRICA to the port IN SOUTH AFRICA?

I could understand it delaying getting on a ship or something like that, but not for getting to the port from the factory.

Possibly all the transporters are backed up, still waiting at the port for a ship to come? They can't turn around and get your car because they are delayed offloading to backed up ships?

Yeah, I dunno. It is safe to assume they want to get you your car ASAP, as they'll be able to officially get it sold/paid for, before end of year. I realize you are even more motivated to get it, but I can't see any valid reason for them to sit on it.

I'm debating of doing a dealer trade to get a car...if my car doesnt make this 11/21 ship it wont be here til the end of Jan at the earliest....100% unacceptable.
