Does anyone know the residual % they should be using for a lease on a 428i m sport convertible? 60%, 62%or 63%?
Car is coming in two weeks I want to be prepared with my facts and numbers to get the best deal on my lease

That often depends on the milage on the lease. I think it's currently 62% for 12k miles.

There is a thread here for lease terms, give it a quick search.

Called the bmw genius center today and my car is status 190, completed production and on the way to the port in bremerhaven.

there are 3 wilhelmus boats picking up in bremerhaven over the next 2 weeks, the independence 2 will be in bremerhaven on 4/22. I hope i am on that boat, or the next boat from wilhelmus is the resolve in bremerhaven on 4/29.

I locked in march's good lease rates so i need to take deliver before june. As long as the car leaves bremerhaven before may i should be ok.

I tried to include the actual phone messages in quotes whenever possible. Sources include information from the transportation company responsible for BMW South Africa, TransNet. MarineTraffice.com, MOL Shipping schedules, BMW Phone line, BMW website, and of course my CA's access to Speednet.

The BMW line and website have been 2-6 days behind during pretty much every part of the process except the production itself. The hardest parts are just waiting at the ports.

If you want to following along with my entire OCD tracking process you can look through this thread. http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1098449

Now status 193 at port awaiting vessel. Really hoping it gets on the independence 2 on wednesday. probably wishful thinking. If not the independence 2 than hopefully the galveston highway from kline on the 24th. next wilhenius boat is the resolve on the 29th.

My car has not yet been assigned a boat yea(per bmw genius hotline). still hoping to be on the independence 2.

The best place to start is to get a vehicle inquiry from your CA. It'll tell you what ship you're on, shipping route, and VIN. That should provide you with the information you need. If you haven't been assigned a carrier yet, the VIN will tell us where your car is coming from. Tracking options differ from each plant.
I have my VIN but the timeline and BMWNA say that you car is at the port waiting for a shipping vessel, no shipping information is available at this time... 😡 today is 4/22 and they have been giving me this message since 4/9

The vehicle inquiry report from the dealers speednet is going to be the most up to date. You'll drive your CA mad if you ask for them daily though.

As I've stated, waiting at port is the worst! It seems a 10-14 day wait is the most common. Their are ways to track your car through some ports transportation networks, but they can be hard to find or locked down to a company log in.

If the 7th to last number of your VIN is "N", I can give you the TransNet IP address to their internal tracking system. It's not meant to be public, but it isn't locked down either. (Yes, I port scanned them to find it, I'm a nerd.)

Most BMW ports in Germany are handled by WWL as well as much of their shipping. The caveat is that you can only use their site for tracking if it's actually shipping via WWL. You can enter the last 7 of your VIN in the Cargo ID box of their tracking site to see if any thing shows up.

Either way, the best non OCD way is to ask your CA to tell you when it gets on a ship. The CAs access the system often to check incoming inventory and it's not hard to check up on your order. My CA emailed me two days after it got on a ship, but that was 4 days before the BMW telephone line and website updated.

Once you have the ship name, it's easy to get it's schedule and track it across the pond.

K is Munich, Germany.

Which means it was carried by road 480 miles to Bremerhaven. The Bremerhaven RORO terminal is handled by Bremen Ports; http://www.bremenports.de/113_2 and by BLG Logistics; http://www.blg-logistics.com/en Neither of which have public VIN tracking.

I can't seem to find a terminal schedule for incoming ships, looking up the RORO Terminal names would help find it. It's difficult mainly because they are just massive as they handle so many cars through these ports. Assuming that is your Zip code, California Deliveries often get shipped via K-Line or MOL don't assume it'll be a WWL vessel.

Ask your CA, it's not going to be worth the time and effort since you should be on a ship any day now if not already.

My car was on the Brasilia Highway and it just docked at the port in Brunswick, GA! Excited but more waiting, maybe tomorrow they will have an estimated date of delivery to the dealership in So. FL. Does anyone know if the VPC works throughout the weekend? I took a half day from work next Thursday just incase it's time to pick up!

I just placed the order for my 435xi GC yesterday, and here's what I'm seeing:

04-22-2015: ORDER PLACED (afternoon)
04-23-2015: IN PRODUCTION

Yes, my obsessive self checked the status after only one day! To my surprise it had shifted to the "In Production" phase. I called the 1-800-831-1117, entered my production number and got this message: "You're vehicle is in production, the estimated completion date is April 30th 2015."

Is it really possible the car went into production within 24 hours? And... it'll be complete within a week?

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled if this news is accurate... but, the dealer told me I'd get one of their two "May Allocations"... now the status shows completion before the end of the month??? Almost seems too good to be true.

Any thoughts are welcome

Yes, apparently they have shifts that cover the weekend although I'm unsure if they actually do work orders. Customs, and shipping do however work on the weekends.
