Sorry about your car, Turbo00--that's very bad news, particularly after all of the waiting!

Thank you for providing the additional information. That will at least alleviate any concerns for a bunch of us, and will allow those who might be impacted to call their CAs and find out what's going on.

It's still hard to believe that this happened...

Thank you for the information Turbo00. It is really unbelievable how this thing happened to your car. Hope you get a better deal, may be with anew idrive.
My car was built on July 30th week. I have the tech pack. I checked the bmwvin it shows that the car has S6NLA.

I am waiting on a 335xi that was finished last Friday (the 10th), and I would like to verify that my car is not impacted by the issue. Bmwvin.com shows S6NLA Bluetooth and USB.

Thank you!
The Someone that can definitively tell you which vehicles have the problem is your dealer and BMW NA. Ring them up.

As you have the technology package, you most likely are not effected. It's just the cars with the standard USB/iPod interface and Bluetooth.

Actually the letter to dealers was posted on the other board and says that 6NL (enhanced BT) was omitted from some cars as well.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=639696

bmwvin.com shows our order as having S6NLA, hoping this means we are ok. However, this still sucks for those with affected orders, especially ones so close to delivery. It's a bad deal, but you guys have still been so helpful to others in trying to find the status on their cars. I still can't believe this happened for 8 weeks before they noticed, have they no QC? It's not like standard BT was added for MY2013, it has been standard on the F30 since the start of series production!

PS I just noticed in that letter that it mentions 328i model 133N but not the 133O SULEV cars, not sure if it is true or not.

Also looks like it's a South Africa issue. So many people are still going to be duped by this. BMW should retrofit the kits at the dealer. I suspect this discount is not going to work. Either that or the cars will sit for a long time.

So does that mean that the blue tooth AND USB ports do not work or just the Blue Tooth portion? I could see accepting a car without Blue Tooth, but not without a functioning USB port.

So do the cars have USB port that are essentially disconnected from the stereo?

My car was produced in Bremerhaven, so it's not a localized SA issue. I will be calling my dealer back this afternoon to offer an ultimatum on a re-order (asking for a couple additional options to make up for the additional wait time and issues this has caused). I'll post up what the resolution is.

Turbo00 Double check where it was produced---Bremerhaven is a port of Exit not a build location.

Not true- from the order guide, 133P is 328i Sedan South Africa, 133N were the ones affected. Also, while Bremerhaven is indeed a shipping port of departure and not a factory, it would not be the POD for a car from South Africa.

You're definitely right, but I am certain the car was produced in Germany.

And what happens if these cars get sold to a 2nd owner? People are going to expect these features since it's standard. I doubt anyone is going check these things when buying.

Sorry I guess the post I was relying on was bad.

Exactly. BMW should just fix it. If they don't the suits will.

I have 6NLA showing up on bmwvin.com ... I guess I am fine... would have been really pissed if they messed it up.

I checked my July 20th build on bmwvin.com and it shows this:

S6NLA ANBIND.BLUETOOTH-U.USB-GERAETE INKL Connection Bluetooth + USB devices incl.

I have the technology package. Does this mean my car has the enhanced bluetooth and USB like it is suppose to have?

UPDATE, dealer offered to match the $750, for a total $1500 off. I refused, as I use my phone frequently while driving for work, and wanted the USB connectivity etc. They offered to reorder a car, but would only knock $800 off our previous agreed upon price. I declined, asked for my deposit back, and left. Overall, disappointed in BMW for such a ridiculous manufacturing error, and disappointed with the dealer for losing a $45k sale over a matter of a few hundred dollars. I've written to BMW NA expressing my extreme displeasure, and will make a few phone calls in the coming days. Such a shame that I waited 6-7 weeks from order, through production, shipping...only 4 days from taking delivery and this happens. Incredibly disappointing.

I wish the rest of you affected by this the best; hopefully your respective dealers are able to work with you a bit more than mine.

I wouldn't accept a car produced in Bremerhaven. BMW doesn't have a factory there, so the build quality isn't going to be so hot.

What makes you think the VIN tells you anything useful? It is assigned before production. If the problem were a screw-up in production, then the VIN would simply be wrong, no?

I think I'd take the money. You can get a bluetooth streaming adapter (third party) for $20 or so. I bought one of those for my 5-year-old E90 just so I don't have to plug my iPhone in and use the clunky radio interface to listen to music. Or you could get a GPS with bluetooth and have a better Nav in the bargain. Not a big deal.

Picked up my new ride on 8/10 (production date was first week of July). No issues with Bluetooth. Haven't tried USB but that's not as important as hands-free calling.
