Experience so far:

Enjoying driving it in traffic on the way home from the office especially.. I found myself going to the 328 in the morning and jumping in it and bypassing the other cars.

Everything works well.. no issues with the iphone5.. although it took a while to work out that you have to select 'External Devices' to get bluetooth streaming working and not just select 'Bluetooth Audio'.. from there I have been streaming my Tune in app and listening to my favourite European stations like NRJ France and Athens Radio.

Has a decent get up and go but I'm not overly impressed with the engine sound but the exhaust note at WOT is nice (excessive air rushing noise, not so much a growl, per se, but I guess what the [Marios] would have coined the word "jet" from)

Been playing around with the Eco-Pro and I quite enjoy the relaxing attitude to driving especially after a long day in the office..

Build quality is good, this is the first BMW that I have owned that not ex Germany..

Been doing the chicken dance trying to demonstrate the comfort access boot release to mates and family (swiping your foot under the rear bar to open the boot 'hands free') lots of lols and it sometimes does not work...

Has excellent grip.. I dont think the engine will overpower the rear tyres with ease.. compared to say 135i or C63, which is a joke, you just look at the loud pedal and it smokes up

Ride quality is definitely a lot smoother than I expected for M-Sport suspension.. again compared to 123d or 135i.

All in all happy with it.

And then there are 2 F30 EBs in Melbourne. Maybe we can pass each other on Williams Road one day.
Congratulations on your purchase. The ride is very nice, even with 19" wheels. No chicken dance for me as I chose not to include CA in my options list.

You will find that your South African built BMW is of the highest standard, considering they have over 40 years experience building BMWs. I haven't had any build issues with any of my 4 SA built cars.

So who was your sales guy at Stillwell BMW? Mine was Chris. How was the delivery experience? Enjoy.

Nice combo 555.

The boot opening with the foot is easy once you get the hang of it :-)

Got the hang of the comfort access boot release, the trick seems to be to stay about say 1 metre from the boot, and kick under the centre of the car and then return your foot back to your standing position. If the car detects you too close to it it won't open for maybe fear of coping a boot opening to your face!

Hi David,

Chris was my salesman too.. But I have a very good friend that works there and the deal was done with him first and Chris looked after us from there on.

Actually on my way there now to go pick up an M jacket for the wife

For me, idling is very quiet & steady. It's when the car accelerates, does the 4 cylinder reveal its 'clangy', diesel characteristics. But it's only an audible characteristic as acceleration is very strong and linear. Takes time to get used to.

I think they're M sport aren't they? Its the same brake system as the 335i but painted blue with ///M logos. The M performance ones have drilled and grooved rotors.

Hello guys, finally found some locals

I'm totally new to this forum but not new to owning a BM. Had a E46 for a few years now and just laid a deposit on a new 328i M Sport - colour unspecified, options undecided! This is because I have decided to hold off the order for an extra month so my car will be a true 2013 build. Yes I may suffer from minor OCD.

Lovely post of the EB MSport 555, makes me extra envious that I will have to wait until end of March 2013 to get mine

Can you tell us what options you chose for your ride? I see you're more performance orientated and got the Adaptive Shocks and upgraded brakes. How are they treating you, do you REALLY notice them? What other options did you pick?

Anyone else care to share their thoughts on what options they would like to see on an M Sport with a limited budget?

CONTEXT: My price includes Sunroof, Xenon, MSport, Metallic paint, HUD and Comfort Access but I can may be add another $1000 worth of extras if it can be justified.

Professional nav and extended connectivity?
19" m sport wheels?
Both are probably more than $1000 though.

Thanks for the reply. I believe the 19" wheels come standard as part of the M Sport package in Australia. At least that's what the brochure makes it out to be

Perhaps reverse camera ? I found that essential, I do alot of city driving ..helps with the curbs. I think it costs 800 but well worth it.

If you're an audiophile definitely HK, extended blue tooth

Hey thanks for the feedback Jin and yes this is definitely a very active and thriving forum

TBH, it was my friend's Golf R that prompted me to get upgrade to the 328i. We spend an afternoon over the Dandenong to Marysville route back in May and that's when I realised the 325ci wasn't going to cut the mustard.

Yeah I'm not so much of a audio person and the front and rear proximity sensors in addition to the screen distance image should do it.

Trying to figure out whether I should go down the "Performance" route or the "gadget" path.
