sportline 397s + H&R Sport
I recently installed H&R sport springs and H&R 15mm spacers in the rear. Here's a few quick pics to give people an idea of what the stock 397s look like with this setup. Personally I like it, but more suspension upgrades and different wheels planned for the future!

Looks good man! I was wondering how the 397s would look lowered a little (I don't dig the ride height of the super sports). I like that ride height - and I dig my 397s even if they're not 19s. I hope BMW makes their perf. suspension upgrade available sometime soon.

Thanks! They're H&R sports (28878-2). The drop was roughly 37mm front and 25mm rear with the standard (non-sport) suspension. About 10mm less if you have the sport suspension.

very nice. you think you can do me a favor? If so, can you measure the height of the side skirts and lip of the front bumper, and see how far off the ground it is? I plan on lowering mine with the h&r super sport which goes lower than this. But im worried it might now clear my driveway. the part on sidewalk is narrow so i can go that much of an angle. I want to compare the height with my other car first to see if it'll clear after i drop. this way i can decide if i should go with sport or super sport. thanks alot.

I like everything about it. I think the ride height is perfect IMO. I also love the 397 wheels.

Thanks guys.
AntBabeee, 130mm from the sideskirt (behind the front wheel), and 140mm under the bumper. To each their own, but super sports always look too low to me. The sport springs are low enough for a street car IMO

ok thanks a lot!!! I was afraid the super sports are too low with 18s. when you look at number spec on there site it doesnt seem that much different... maybe another 3rd of an inch... but guess that can make a big difference.

Hi sorry to dig up an old thread. Just wondering long term how are the sports springs holding up? Any complaints of handling or deteriation of the ride?
And what is it that the spacer in the rear achieve? I ask because I may have a 328 sport line with these wheels on its way and I'm considering installing the springs as I think ur car looks great

The sport springs with standard shocks aren't a great match in my opinion. Ride is ok, but there's a lot of bounce. I also felt the car lost a bit of its 50/50 balance. I've since replaced everything with the m performance suspension and the difference is night and day.
The h&rs may pair better with sport shocks. Not sure what you get in honkers but here in oz sport line has std suspension by default. The spacers were mainly aesthetic, although widening the rear track reduces oversteer slightly, and the car was a bit tail happy with 225 goodyears on the rear. |

Do you have any before pics? Seems a little higher than some of the after pics I've seen but it might be because some of them are running 19 inch wheels.
