Bit of an update....had a call on Friday from a local dealer wanting me in to discuss some end of year deals they have on 4 series, I said it would need to be a very good deal for me to even consider and he said it was as good as the current 3 series deal....obviously their 'very good deal' could differ from mine! Cant see them being able to offer the 3.9% APR on the 4!

Just upgraded my 320D M-Sport order to a 330D M-Sport because the dealer could actually sell it to me cheaper than the 320D with the options I added.

The reason for this is:

1. Some of the options I added to the 320D are standard on the 330D.
2. The Residuals are better on the 330D so finance is cheaper.

Overall got about £5k off the list price.

Great deal Steddy! The big thing with the 4 at the mo is there is no dealer contribution and the residual isn't that much more when I compare the 2 I am looking at, 335d v 435d.

Did you have a look at 335d? Some are getting 17.5% discount....might be worth a look...I always use broadspeed.com to start off negotiations :-)

No, I didn't consider the 335d. My coupe is the 320D currently, so the 330D is going to be a major update for me. Also, I don't want an X-drive model.

I have a great relationship with my dealer, and he always bends over backwards to get the best deal he can for me.

Another new NI member here, I am in the middle of negotiating with 2 local BMW dealers regarding a F30. I have my eye on a pre-reg 318d Msport (3.9% apr) but when you sit and do the maths a brand new car for 2014 isn't much extra in terms of the monthly repayments.

Where did you do your deal steddyman? I would kill for a 330D but I thought it would be out of my budget.

Which dealer in Lancs do you use if you don't mind me asking?

Welcome F30 M sport - good to have another NI member here.

What dealers are you talking to in NI, given none of them are too far away I would try them all to see who plays ball. THe manufacturer contributions on the larger engined models are greater so that can close the gap in what they cost, play around on the configurator and certainly in terms of 330d and 335d deals getting 15% up to even 20% have been mentioned.

Thanks davyk31. I have been in discussions with Bavarian and then a few people on the mainland to haggle with. I managed to get 12% of a 2014 320d Msport via email to Sytner Sulihull as a tool to bargain with in NI. Yes that is exactly what I asked them to do, give me more discount / spec without being model specific. I'll keep you posted.

F30 - tried Bavarian today re 335d deal....couldn't get even close to the broadspeed price...and had no inclination to even try...it was like that's the price and are you sure broadspeed is correct? .....prentice, Jkc and country garage to go.

He did confirm 3.9% deal will stay until end of March!

I have been round the NI dealers too, looking at an F31 M sport 330d X Drive or a 335d. I found very little difference in the prices they quoted and I suspect the difference will be in what each offers for my trade in. The discounts using bmw select pcp were not giving discounts of more than approx 12%. The 335d comes with an extra £1000 towards options which effectively reduces the price differential between 330d and 335d to just £2000.

Proftinkerpot - they don't seem to want to do deals! Have you considered looking over in mainland? That's my next port of call!

Andyers - I get the feeling that all local dealers have met their targets and so are under no real pressure to discount heavily. I have bought nearly new from the mainland and had no issue so it is an option. There must be almost scope for group buys using forums like this.

I think you are right mate....I have an insider in one of the dealers so will get the lowdown! I would be up for a group buy! Might help kick off their 2014 target!

Just with servicing mate, bought my cars in England. Find Prentice more open to negotiation though, never tried JKC or Country Garage. If they can't do a deal then I am happy to keep my E92 until they are.

I think the dificulty is knowing if the various discounts and contributions will all carry forward into quarter one of 2014. My guess is it will as BMW is having a tough time across Europe due to the recession.

He confirmed the APR will stay the same until end of first quarter....must get clarification on the discount. Frustrating as I am good to go and buy at right price, they just don't want to play ball!

I would appreciate if you would confirm the discount issue if you can. Certainly the dealers were suggesting that to guarantee discounts at current levels would require orders to be placed by end of December. Like you, im in no rush to change and could wait for a suitable deal.

I have bought several from JKC and one from Bavarian although mostly used cars. Can't see the local dealers going to the mega high levels that mainland dealers do simply because they feel its a bit of a closed shop here as most won't consult mainland dealers.

Group buy sit a bad idea at all. Going to them offering 3 or 4 high value sales has to be attractive to any dealer but maybe. It Bavarian as much as they are so big.

I am going to JKC today for a preview of the new X5 and no doubt a chat about discount will entail. Discounts on the new model even on broad speed are only 3%. May also end up enquiring about a 335d

Do any of the local dealers have a demo 335d?

Davy. I don't believe there are any 335d demos over here. I found an article on the 3 series in a recent edition of Car magazine and found that even 330ds are rare as flip flops on an Eskimo. In 2012 in the UK 27676 3 series were sold. 11, 151 were 320ds and only 584 were 330ds. The 335d is going to be even more rare.I have an X3 SD m sport and only 1 in every 14 X3s sold had the 3.0 SD engine.

So it would appear that every UK owner of a 330d or 335d is on here
