I'm starting to get tempted!! How does this work, book it all in via the dealer (do you still get discount?) or buy the springs yourself and drop off with the car? (Lorcan - are Sytner Sunningdale ok to do this, or would it need to be Ridgeway, Hook or Barons, Hindhead?)

You still get the discount if you tell the dealer you are a forum member. I just spoke to Sunningdale and they said it would be a decision for the workshop manager, who is on holiday for a week. So for now I would stick to the dealers listed on our website. Ridgeway or Baron's would be fine, they can give an all-in price.

Ridgeway has offered a labour charge of £450 for those interested.

That seems a little expensive compared to others in this thread once you add the springs on top. Think I'll check out Barons and see what they say being as only 5 mins down the road (assuming they aren't pissed with me I didn't order the car from them in the end )

A poor chap was here with his M5 yesterday. Took him 6 hours 40 minutes to get back to Croydon after the M11 was shut |

Just booked mine in with halliwell jones Chester for the 18th July .
We're going for a week away down South Wales and couldn't stand the thought of driving all that way on good driving roads with standard set up . It's down right ungainly when throwing it in to corners in any mode. by the way it was £650 all in but don't know if that includes forum discount. I'll take some pics before and after with the 20' 624m,s on and post on this thread. |

Yes that includes your discount and is about as good a price as you will get from a BMW dealer. Should look nice on the 20s.

Guys, just make sure your price covers the KDS and xenon adjustment, if you have them

The system is self adjusting for when you put a body in the boot etc. but when you remove the front suspension legs the sensor gets disconnected and when it's reconnected with the shorter springs on it can get confused, so the instructions say to check the headlamp alignment. It's a 5 minute twiddle to put right though, nothing major.

Apologies in advance as I've not read all 15 pages of his thread. But would a 328i benefit from the ACS springs as well?

If so I guess they'll make very nearly as much difference as they did on mine, being that the 30d engine is heavier and no doubt causes a bit more body roll on the standard suspension. If you're not happy with how the car currently handles then £240 for springs that won't affect your warranty is a bit of a no brainer. |

@teaston
Agree. However, currently in a 325d (s drive). Changing jobs in July so have to return current car and thus 328i is in the process of being ordered. So can't comment on handling as briefly drove a test drive back in Feb 14. And b4 anyone asks, did start with a 335i but Riaz was being a real pain with his discounts so had to "settle" for the 328i. Diesel a non starter as didn't want to incur the wrath of Nick the Greek :-)
