Disaster
I have managed to scrape my brand new 4 Series onto a wooden fence - see the result. Hope it never happens to anyone.
Can anyone suggest to me if dent repair is an option or if a door replacement is the only solution... if door replacement is needed, any ideas on cost? Sorry you have to see this... |

Ouch! I feel for you man! How did you manage to do that!!!???
That being said, I have seen miracles be done with paintless dent removal. I cant tell by the pics if the paint is damaged too? |

No paint work damage on the door panel itself. Can dents be truly removed by hammering it out? |

Yes, dents can be carefully fixed by a pro. I wouldnt attempt to do it but again I have seen the pros remove worse dents than yours. Its worth a shot.

Works like this OP. I suspect you'd get quite good results if you found the right shop to perform the work.
There are dozens and dozens of videos of this work being done on Youtube and much of it is fairly impressive. Good luck. |

That looks painful. Hopefully the paintless dent removal can pop it out.

Brand new door runs about 1K + paint and services, I would assume that would cost you $1,500
Call your insurance and get it done If you shop around you may find a shop that will do for $1,300 I would not try to fix it just the dents since it will never look the same again.

Was thinking that too. But you gotta feel for the op. What an awful sinking feeling doing anything to your pride and joy. I got a lovely new 6cyl Audi once and was so pleased with myself I filled the car with petrol at a station. (It was a diesel car) |

Ouch. Doesn't look too bad. If the paints not cracked then I reckon PDR is worth a try first. I recently got my bonnet done and am amazed at the results.
For the middle dent they have a dent pulling tool that they use if they can't get to the back of it. The rocker panel probably needs a respray unless it can be buffed out. Try to get a PDR technician with some good referrals. Send him a photo of the dents and he'll let you know if it can be done and give you a price. I'd say you're probably looking around 100 quid for PDR. Last edited by kingmonkey8; 01-03-2015 at 01:27 PM.. |

Ouch feel for you.
Post it in the UK part of the forum, a few there have had some various repairs done on dents etc - depending on what bit of UK you are at. The biggest issue is usually paint matching with new doors, however luckily you don't have EBII. |

Its not too visible in the photo but the the panel between the two most visible dents are also indented. Would you say that the PDR was 100% successful on your car? Thanks. |

I presume the whole side is painted such that paint colour difference doesn't show up? I will post it there... thanks for that.

I have 2 stone chips ( caused by someone's Young brat throwing a stone at my bonnet) from week 2 of owning the car, cost to sort will be £500 for bonnet respray or risk a partial touch up for about 250. |

But then they have to respray it which you might not always get a 100% match. The crease in the door looks the worse bit. looking at where the dent is, there is plenty of rear access. the other dents look superficial. I would let a PDR technician look at it first to get an expert opinion. The dents in my bonnets were smallish with a couple of creases on the bonnet crease line but the guy that did it took his time, did a really good job. You could not tell there was any dents before . If the PDR tech says it can't be done then I would go to a bodyshop. But it could save you a lot of time and money. There are quite a few around, they normally travel to your place and takes about a couple of hours. Send photos off to a few of them to get their opinions and quotes. Where are you based? |
