So i just logged into the bmwusa site to check on my car and it went from the "order documented" to "production begins"...also is showing my car color choices with options, tho it is also showing sportline with m suspension(which i did not order). From this point does anyone know how long till they actually being assembling the car?

my guess is the best way to find out is check with your Dealer sales person and ask them when your order status is at 150 or beyond...

By the way 90degreeman,

since you are getting your ED in March, (winter season), did your dealer said / told you anything about having all seasons or winter tires being fitted and delivered to you then (as a german requirement) ... do you have performance tires as on your car order or options?

otherwise i think it would not affect you....

my dealer fleet manager just warned me and asked me if i should reconsider postponing my ED date to after the 15 of April (Spring/Summer Seasons) cut off date.

Yes, he did told me about it. I believe this is not enforced strictly in Germany. You're suppose to, but if you don't have them installed, you *might* get fined. I am going to leave Germany the same day of pick-up and drive to Italy where the winter tires are not required. I really don't want to pay for 190 euro/48 hours. It's expensive to rent these tires.

yeah... same here, most likely i will be driving the car from Munich straight to Switzerland on the second day (spending the first day of pick up walking in Munich), then on the third day, going to Stevio Pass to Milan :P

Just got a call back from my CA. He said the car is status 150. Not sure how much longer from this point, but im just happy the car has started production. The dealer told me they expected production sometime in jaurary.

Just hoping its not sitting at the dock for more than 2 weeks...i figure if the boat can get to the states around the last week of jan/first week of feb. I can prob get the car 2nd/3rd week of feb(being very optomistic)

deler told me to expect march delivery, but they also said the car would start production sometime in january...

Official sales start Feb 11th for the F30 line... you will most likely get your car on that same day

Very jealous . My original ED (UK) was March - now May as I wanted Mineral White Metallic as a colour which was only available on the 2nd production run. Although I have been told 2nd production run gets slightly different Nav hardware (revision). I think it is just bug fixes (orange screen of death reported on various forums), but I am hoping for possible additional functionality (full black panel display (I wish)).

I have also been led to believe the Efficient Dynamics I have ordered gets the adaptive suspension as standard in Europe - we shall see

What does that mean? There will actually be a hardware change in the 2nd? Seems that if they know of any issues with the NAV, it would be fixed in real-time.

Not sure to be honest. I thought it may be a new firmware release, but I have heard a revised CIC is coming due to a supplier change. We shall see....

Just remember on the E90 they built up a large inventory of cars in storage before the release date. Customers and dealers could only get their cars on the official release date.

So dont expect it too soon
