Dear Baby Jesus why no Bluetooth Audio?

Just picked up a '12 335i F30 and it seemed to have every package available except for the M Sport Package. I've got Bluetooth telephone but no Bluetooth audio. Does anyone know of a fix? Please help! I will use an aux cable if I have to but I want that cordless life.

Photo to show interior because I'm in love with that red stripe.

I've done tons of research, and with your vintage, you have 2 real good options...

Option 1 -
Spend about $250 on a combox and coding cable. Retrofit the combox is relatively easy, harness is already in place. Then you'll need to code the option, convoluted but not more than a couple hours of research and work.

Option 2 -
bose bluetooth adapter
http://www.amazon.com/Bose-727012-13...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

This is the next best thing to OEM. Lives in the armrest and occupies your Aux and USB, if you're set to Aux on the idrive it's as seemless as oem. Just not idrive controls or album art, etc.

All that said, bluetooth audio quality sucks, and if you appreciate sound quality, you'll appreciate the 1/8" Aux output from your phone.

Actually, pull out your trunk liner and see if you have something that looks like an amplifier close to the drivers side rear seat.

Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds..

If you have it, you can likely just code the option.

Yeah I looked into something similar. You're saying the bluetooth audio quality isn't very good while the aux audio is better?

or for half the price of bimmertech just find a local coder in your area. I would do it for 40 bucks.

I ordered my coding cable on Amazon prime for $17. Came with the cable, software, instructions etc.

If you're good with computers and can follow instructions, it's hard to mess up.

I appreciate the advice everyone. Bimmer tech, I certainly appreciate an expert in the field. But seeing as how this car was already a pretty penny, I may try to DIY first. Brikabrak, you wouldn't happen to have a link to this cable on Amazon would you?

Code it yourself. Takes a few minutes.

I'm not sure if there is a Mac option, but try using BootCamp or if an emulator (VMware Fusion, Parallels, ect.) if you have no access to a PC.
