Wheel Question
I have been reading trough the posts and can't seem to find if anyone has successfully fit 17" wheels to a car with the sport line.
I have a new 15 328xdrive with Msport package with gray brake calipers, not the Msport brakes. The car has the 18" 400M wheels on it. I was trying to see if the BMW OEM style 393 17" inch wheel would fit the car. I was going to order a set of wheels but the dealer is not sure they will fit and suggests staying with 18". I would but I was hoping to use the snow tires I just bought at the end of the season from the old car that had 17" wheels. When I try to measure the brake calipers to the other side of the rotor I get a measurement of about 13". This was more than what I saw in the sticky but I can't tell if my measurement using paint sticks to mark the outside diameter was working or if they brakes changed for 2015. Any advice or where I can get specs for the 393 wheel or confirm fit? Thank you in advance |

If you have the standard brakes then 17" wheels will fit fine. There's a video on youtube on a guy running 16" steelies on his 328.
I run OEM 394 - 17" 225/50/17 square for winter, and OEM 401 19" staggered in summer. ps. Not the most accurate database, but a good place to start: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/3 |

I can't comment on the OEM 17's you mentioned, but I am running a set of aftermarket 17's as my winter set on my 328i without any issues. They are actually the same wheels I had used for winters on my previous car, an E90.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give them a shot and see how it goes.
Part of me wants to just get some nice winter 18's to keep the look good. I'll sleep on it. While looking for the 328 on steelies I ran across this site. They seem to have some good wheel options. http://originalwheel.com Thanks again! If you have a link to the steelies let me know. |
