Gran Coupe Rear seat question
Hey guys and gals
need to ask a question specifically to any owners of a 4 series Gran Coupe (dont matter if its 428 or 435) I'm starting to think about my next vehicle for when my lease is up next year. And the Gran Coupe is currently tops of my list (aside from a 340, and curious abt the MB C450AMG) My question is about the rear seats and if they recline at all? I have two kids ages 7 and 5 and my younger one always complains about getting a little carsick when he rides in my car. I drive rather conservatively when they are in the car with me. I think it has something to do with the fact that the way the seats are in my 335. hes more used to being slightly reclined like in our minivan. So i'm wondering if they recline (even if just slightly) or is it just fixed at a certain position. any input is appreciated... cheers! |

I assume it's similar to my GT, which is uncomfortable not due to the seat back angle but because the seat back is a flat slab. A pair of these fixed it.

In terms of size, the only vehicle that I can think of under the BMW umbrella that offers reclining rear seats is the X1

thanks all for the feedback.. was hoping since it was an open hatch concept it would allow for the rear seats to tilt back slightly. Probably for safety issues they can't give the rear seats to tilt backwards.. who knows...
my kids are still in high back boosters so literally its as if they are sitting straight up.. which i think is why my little one gets slightly car sick. or maybe its the exhaust note. again.. thanks all for the feedback... wish i could afford a 7... but sadly i cannot. |

The 5GT has reclining rear seats. Also the new F48 X1 has them as an option.

F36 does not have reclining seats. Also, compared to the F30, there is less shoulder room and head room, and the thicker c pillar and smaller rear windows make the experience noticeably worse in my personal experience.

think i might have to really think about this... never actually sat in one... maybe i should mosey on over to a dealership to check one out. instead of waiting for early next year and having to scramble to find a backup plan. i'm not overly concerned about the head space and shoulder space as its normally just my kids in the backseat. but i definatley wanna see the seating position compared to my current 335. |
