It means that your parking lamp has malfunctioned.
Normally it would mean you have a bulb out. But since you said all lights are OK then something is up with the monitoring circuit. Just take it in. |

I think it's the parking lamps inside the headlights. Right where the high beams are in the halogens are little bulbs. I remember one got stuck on when I was washing it. Seems to be happening again.

Hey Guys,
I am getting this "parking lamp malfunction" on my dash also. All the bulbs are in working order. I have aftermarket HID's installed for ~6 months before this error popped up. 2013 F30 non-projector housing. Any ideas? |

Had this warning three times now. First 2 were left side out but bulb looked in working order and when reinstalled all was working again. Third time was right side out again checked bulb and when reinstalled right side worked but now left out. Checked left bulb and clearly blown so changed and now both don't work! Visit to the dealer methinks after Christmas.

I just got he same warning. All "parking" lights are working. Havent checked the DRL bulbs yet to see if they are considered the same circuit.
Anyone have an answer yet before I stroll down to the dealer? |

I'm getting this warning also. This is covered under warranty.
The parking lights are in the high beam housing. Go to your car and unlock with the fob. If one of them is off when you do this you have a burnt out parking bulb. |

License Plate Light?
I had this once, and it turned out it was the license Plate light, which actually just needed to be twisted about to clean the contacts.

Hi Michael, are you sure this is covered under warranty? I took my car in and I was charged almost $300 and my warranty hasn't expired yet. Did anyone go to the dealer and get it fixed?

You need to check what is covered by BMW Canada in your warranty to see if this qualifies for you. |

Its probably a bulb that is ready to go. The monitoring circuits read even slight fluctuations in current and send of a message or a code. Take it in for the next service. They'll probably replace the bulb for free.
