A bit of Zaino Detailing

Thought I would give this product a try, I've used the Zaino Leather Cleaner for a while which is great and leaves a very nice matt finish, none of that shiny rubbish!

Anyway, bought some Zaino Z2 Show Car Polish and Zaino Z8 Grand Finale Spray Seal. Initially concerned the Z2 was called "polish", my car is only 6 weeks old so don't really want to be cutting into the paintwork yet but it turns out to be more of a wax (or Last Step Product).

Followed the instructions, cleaned the car as usual (two bucket method), dried off, had a tin, then applied Z2 on small sections at a time, waited for at least 15 mins per section before buffing off. The instructions state it can be applied in the sun (which surprisingly did show up at some point), but even so the product was easy to buff off even in direct sunlight. I used a Microfibre Pad to apply and a Microfibre Cloth to buff off again.

Once it was all done, obviously had another tin (sun was out), then went for the Z8, again small section at a time, just mist over and buff off. It does state don't let this stuff dry on the car so you have to immediately buff off again.

Very happy with it, I did double up on layers and it certainly seems to get wetter looking, so easy to use so will stick with it for the foreseable.

I used to use Meguiars No.16 on my previous AW F30 which was good, especially for the lighter paint, but it can be a bit of a mission to buff off so will see how this stuff goes long term.

Looks fantastic.

Did the car have any treatments applied from new? Paint seals etc.?

Well it was detailed by a third party guy for collection day, he spent all day on it and it looked great, but I don't know what he used as such, it's been driven in crap weather and washed a few times since then though!

I've got zaino products on mine as well. I really rate them and it's seems to stay clean much longer ! I had seal and protect on from new which was done for free as I requested it to come without sealant from new !!! I stripped it off with g3 wash iron x and a clay mitt before applying the zaino. 3 coats of z2 z6 and z8 ! then wash with z7 followed by a coat of z8 every time it looks stunning in the flesh but difficult to photograph being white

That's a good point I need to get some Z7 then for future washes, the Zaino stuff all seems to complement each other so should try and keep with the same brand for washing and waxing.

the wash is bloody expensive compared to other shampoos but you only need a cap full so it goes a long way

Looks good, found it on Amazon for 15 quid, I've been using meguiars ultimate wash and wax which is probably no good now, it has a very high wax content and I guess will work against the Zaino stuff, cheers for the tip!

Zaino always looks lovely on lighter coloured cars, silvers, whites etc.
Very nice . I was always put off Zaino but rumours that it was a bit fiddly, but having bought some a few years ago, I find it quite easy to use. Leaves a lovely slickness behind.....
I think my most used product is the water based tyre shine

Yes it is surprisingly easy to buff off, I was initially sceptical it would last long but it's looking good and will certainly get some weather testing with all the rain I seem to be driving through at the moment (and if the sun does come out, it's a fly graveyard over the front of my car so will see how easy they come off as well). Your MG must look good with this stuff as well.

Funnily enough I've not got round to trying Zaino on it. I've generally stuck to GTechniq C3v2, though I've just ordered some Sonax NPT for it's supposed ease of use and durability, so will see how that fairs.
I've so much detailing stuff, I really do need to rationalise it as I have even ended up buying stuff to try in the past that's already in the armory

Ah yes same here, I was using C3v2 as well and just bought another bottle a couple of weeks ago, not sure if you can put that over the top of the Zaino so will leave it in "stores" for now.
