.... it's a fair deal ... not an excellent deal as this is a 1 year old car. The car would have depreciated by about 15% on the dealer lot while sitting as brand new.

True..though the production date was June '12...but it was the best we could do after a lot of haggling. overall we wanted the car and we were comfortable with the deal. but thanks for the tip.

Q: The local BMW dealers are all clearing out their demonstrators right now and most have a few thousand clicks on them with discounts of about 10% already.
If I choose to get one of those what type of discount should I be pushing them for? And should I even consider one (I'd only pick it up if it had what I am already looking for)? thanks, |

Obviously never pay sticker price. Maybe a couple grand off the 10% discounted amount? Try ur best and be aggressive! Good luck!

F30 body kits fogs and wider tires
Hi all,
I have a 2012 335i sport and am looking to lower and dress up the car with a kit and wider tires. Any suggestions of where I can look or any great shops within Ontario or Quebec? Thanks

I was offered this for a 48 mo lease on a 2013 328i xDrive Sport Line, no packages/options:
$640 (tax in.), $4500 down payment, $28k (tax in.) residual value/buy back. What do you guys think? If I can do better, by how much should I aim for? |

The financing rates and terms are all fixed by BMW Canada (I think 4.9% currently for the F30).
To get the best price, don't focus on the monthly stuff, focus on the discount from MSRP. Ensure you are getting at least 5% off, but aim for about 7%. Invoice price should be about 8.3% below MSRP, so they can still make some money. My understanding from this forum is that the TO dealers are hungrier than the dealers out here, so fight hard! |

Given that the APR (4.9%), down payment, and residual value all stay the same, wouldn't the only things that change be the net price (discount from MSRP) and the monthly payment? So thus, wouldn't it be ok to focus/negotiate from the monthly payment price? Or am I missing something here? (Obviously, I am not a math major lol) |

As long as you end up in the same place as far as the price you're actually paying for the car, then it's fine, but I wouldn't generally recommend it.
It's tricky to negotiate based on monthly payments because normally the dealership will try to fudge the numbers to fit into your desired monthly price, like try to move you to a lower km lease, increase your down-payment, those sorts of things. Negotiating the actual price you're paying for the car lets you KNOW if you're getting the deal you should get. Once you get that price, then they plug it in to their finance calculator and spit out the numbers for you. |

Canadian delivery charges vs. USA delivery charges
Does anyone have any idea why the Canadian freight and delivery charge for a 3 series is $2095, while the USA destination & handling charge for the 3series is only $925? The cars that are sold in Canada and in the USA are made in same non-USA factories, to the best of my knowledge.

We are also 1/10th the volume of the US so the costs to run BMWCA and the entire dealership network is also shared in the fee. |

Will be picking up a 2012 F30 335i tomorrow, got 10% ish on discount as well. The one I bought has everything except the M pack, 16,000 clicks and had clean interior and exterior. I posted recently a thread looking for advise if it was a good deal or not in having a 2011 335i/335is, but this one came in the day I was at the dealership and they were asking for pretty much the same price. No point getting a 2011 when you can get a newer model with pretty much the same price. Dealership was Budds BMW @ Oakville.

If you're referring to Auto-Start-Stop (aka ASS), yes, the dealer can reprogram it to Last User Mode. However, my 2014 already came programmed that way, and I think the setting is profile-independent (if you have the HU_NBT nav).
