Anyone mapped their 320d?

As the title asks - have any of you had the 2.0d remapped? What's the deal with warranty with a bluefin for example, and would the auto box handle the extra torque?

Do they even sell one for the F30 yet?

Ideally with a Bluefin type box you'd put it back to standard before it went in for any warranty work so they wouldn't know. Same with the tuning add on boxes, always remove it first before it goes into the dealer.

With a remap it is harder but very difficult for a dealer to detect anyway. But if they did then they could void any warranty claim. That is always the risk.

I'm assuming its for your E90? If that's the case I remapped my last car which was a 2010 320d m sport auto, first of all technically the remap would void your warranty for damage caused by the remap, that said if its done properly.
First of all chipping and tuning boxes are no good, you need an individual remap and there not cheap, I paid £375 but its worth it. As its an auto extra care needs to be taken not to add to much torque, if its done wrong you could be looking at a very nasty bill.
Having said that, if you get a proper job done its worth every penny , google Simon from emaps, he comes highly recommended on forums

He has just ordered a F30. From what I understand the latest ECU's are much harder to remap.

I had the E92 335D remapped and it was fantastic. I had no problems at all with dealer work. Unlike the tuning box I tried on the Merc which just sent the car into limp mode...

Judging by the responses and the lack of available maps on various websites for the f30 it seems nothing is available. It was only a matter of time that it became too difficult to crack the ECU.

I had the 118d done at P-Torque in Wolves and enjoyed the benefit. However when I took it in to be reversed the owner struggled and couldn't start the car for about three hours after attemting to reverse the map. He reloaded backed up ECU files from another car and thankfully it worked but it went back to the lease company still mapped. Not a very nice day or indeed service! He just wasn't honest and frank about the situation on the day and tried to cover up his own panic, although unsuccessfully.

This has made me realise that there's no way I'd get it done again on the f30, even if one was available.

I gave my 335D back to the lease company still remapped. I figured there was no way they would ever know.

I'm not surprised as the performance of the 35d stock must feel bonkers to anyone not used to driving one.

How does your current car compare performance wise?

I think the M-performance Power Kit is best and cheap(est) choice. Full warranty and no worries.

If it's available it won't be the cheapest but it would be my choice too.

M Power Kit for 320d is ~1000€ without install, installation takes ~2h.

I think when I enquired about the 320d power kit I was quoted around the £1350 mark fitted. It's been a couple of months so the exact figure is lost.

For the 16hp or thereabouts boost it gave it didn't really seem worth it. Saying that though I still keep going back to look...

Everyone was doing it on e90post so it seemed rude not to join them

Then 8 speed box on the f30 is much better than the 6 speed box so the car feels about as quick as a stock e90 335D. I do want to fit the power kit though!

You're mad, in the nicest way though. I drove the 330d and it's ridiculously fast

Depends what you are used to, it is not ridiculously fast in the scheme of things, try a 600 bhp Nissan GTR, that will recalibrate what you think fast is

Certainly have driven faster cars like the new M6 or even just the 135i but what I meant it's a very quick car in it's category with good fuel consumption

Yep I totally agree, I bought one for exactly that reason, I can get 50mpg on a cruise and the performance is above average, the 330d is a consummate all rounder. I can only justify one car at the moment and its perfect for me, I just wish the interior was a bit more 5 series like
