Anyway to order RWD G30?

I know idiotic BMW Canada decision makers think RWD is stupid for us Canadian. But many of BMW buyers want what BMW is about, or was, RWD. Anyway to order a RWD G30? Custom order?? Any chance?

Well, looks like it's the only way.

I've checked with a sales guy if I can order 440GC RWD - the answer was "no". And you cannot bring a car from anywhere except US.

Was that the Sale guy's answer or BMW Canada? I am not sure why they don't want to do that. Not like it's going to cost them more...

I guess they have to go through certification process for each model and it's not cheap.

Certification of what?? RWD costs more to register? I don't think so.

Well, anyway. I won't buy another BMW sedan/coupe in xdrive, except for M drive on new F90. AWD BMW is just not BMW. If I must have a awd, I will buy Audi or Mercedes. The only thing make BMW better in 5 series level is RWD. E-class is just better in every other way. New Audi A6 coming soon is going to be tech heaven. No reason for me to get 5 without RWD. BMW Canada, your loss! I believe there are a lot of people here in Canada agree with me.

I will definitely ask Mercedes Canada if they are willing to do a RWD E400 or E43. If not, then I am all Audi.

Only hope is the next gen M3. I believe BMW AG won't make it xdrive or at least not regular shitty xdrive aka M xdrive.

Aren't you worse off with Audi since they're FWD/AWD?

Bmw instrument cluster although become digital, it still remain speedo/tach dual circle with physical inlays. Very conservative to me while both audi and mbenz are fully customizable and recognizable. Bmw still remain that useless speedo needle UI, really outdated, lame. Who need needle to read speed. Just use supercar style tach in the centre and digital speed in the middle that both audi and mbenz have

I repeat - as long as you have HUD you don't use dash at all. So who cares how it looks?

You can't have everything on HUD, not right now, not with a projector HUD. Maybe there will be a Windshield made of OLED display. But anyway, matter of opinion.

You can purchase it in the United States and then move it to Canada. I know that many people do this.

I know it is possible but very difficult. First, it has to be full cash purchase. Second, all the trouble bringing it to Canadian safety test and shit. I won't pay full cash for cars again, so, lol. Maybe a 530e that doesn't focus on performance at all.

A dealer won't order outside of what's available in the BMW Canada guideline which is coordinated by BMW Germany.

My RWD 2015 428i GranCoupe was returned due to the whole Halifax recall ordeal in 2015 and BMW Canada didn't offer the RWD configuration for 4er GC in 2016 models (2015 production had ended already). BMW Canada chipped in money to put me into my 340i instead of ordering me an equivalent 428i GC configuration I returned.

It is so frustrating. I am now leaning toward 530e plugin hybrid. It has no performance anyway so xdrive be it then
