New wheels and suspension question
I am looking to upgrade my stock rims to 19's and adding coilovers. Should the two upgrades happen at the same time and if not, which one should come first?

Whichever you can afford 1st. If money is not an issue then do both. It will be much easier for you with being able to see the wheels on and adjust it to the proper ride height the first time around.

I would wait and do both at the same time rather than doing one and then the other. Cars that are lowered with stock wheels usually look kind of weird because the wheels will typically be "sunken in" due to very high offsets and small width. Most stock wheels just arent aggressive. You could pick up spacers to correct the sunken in look, however, you may end up needing to do a stud conversion (for extended studs) to fit an adequately sized spacer.
Likewise, cars that have aftermarket wheels (or even larger, OEM, wheels) with no suspension modifications look kind of goofy as well. You see it a lot by non-enthusiasts who think it might be cool to get some different wheels and don't really think it through. It is noticeable when the wheels look obnoxiously large and you look at the fender gap and think to yourself "I could fit my shoe in there, I wonder if they go off-roading in that Chrysler 300"

I think I should have the money to do them both, my main concern was that I probably won't get the wheels and tires done at the same place I lower the vehicle. So in that case, which one comes first

Do you live in San Diego? I am sure there is a shop that can do both at the same time. If not, I can recommend a shop in Orange County.

What are your wheels specs for the new setup?
Diameter, width, offset? What size tires? Knowing your specs will let us help you make a decision much easier. |

Assuming that they're pretty common sizes and nothing super aggressive that would cause rubbing -- the wheels+tires first. This way, the coilovers only need to be adjusted at one sitting.

I ended up putting the wheels on first. I went with the Niche 157's in charcoal (19's). Now I just need to lower it.
