What mods are proven to get more power?

Tunes (whether ECU or piggyback) are the ones that work. There is always debate about intakes. Obviously power hits significantly harder without a cat but not really an option due to emissions. Catted DPs provide more flow but the price difference not sure if they are worthwhile. So I ask what are worthwhile investments to increase power on an n20? Thanks.

I can Highly recommend Race Chip... Cheap and easy power increase... Hypothetically speaking... You know if I had it ?

If you are not looking into catless downpipe or even the High Flow catted aftermarket downpipe, these are your options (first one being the best):

1. BMS JB4 Stage2
2. RaceChip Ultimate
3. BMS Stage1

It is impossible to get a correct answer on this matter.
You can always adjust boost on most of the tunes available and get more power.
Your best bet is the get a JB4 with a USB cable and if you want more power contact burger tuning technical support and ask them how to raise boost.

1. Tune - ECU flash with GSR, or piggyback like JB4/Racechip
2. Downpipe
3. Catback exhaust
4. Possibly intake.

That is the best way to get more power.

The best bang for the buck is JB4 with catless downpipes. From their the best combo is the JB4 with ER catless or second would be catted.

If you don't want to mess with the downpipes I would recommend the JB Stage1 and call it a day.

+1 but since OP is in NY, he's better off with a local Tuner
4. i would change the intake for a drop-in filter especially since he's in Buffalo, its pretty cold up there

A real flash tune is the best way to go. I really mean "a real flash tune"! I've had piggy backs and stacked flash with piggy back and the best so far has been a real flash tune. Your car won't struggle with errors on a real flash.

Wow who knew you could put F80 spark plugs in. Are they that different from the N20 ones?

What about using F80 coils too?

What is the cat-heating option? Is that the CEL delete for a catless downpipe?

Do you have a manual transmission? If Auto how do you avoid the torque limit?

Have you had any hesitation/stuttering around 3000rpm?

Who flashed your ECU?

The coils are the same in stock (oem) so you don't need to change it

The plugs are fitting bolt-on

Cat-heating off is when the car is catless and it is loudly during cold-start so cat-heating off making it not loudly.. It is called cold-start off option too

Transmission is automatic. No any cel or any issues! No hesitation/stuttering!

The flash tune is made by my friend from Germany. We also use his products in all the cars that we tune in our area

Unless there's something wrong with your ignition system, you're not going to get more power with plugs.

I totally blanked on the Torque number. keeping it under 450Nm means you wont get to the torque limiter.

Still the 315HP is very impressive. Was this on a Dyno or just the car screen?

Checked the coils and plugs and you are right.

Torque is 420 so transmission feels good

Dyno was in Germany. In a few weeks will dyno it in Moscow too

I pulled the trigger on an Active Autowerks- Active 8 performance module. They are having a group buy right now!

I really like the quality of the wiring harness, and the specific information needed to customize the tune for your car! It goes to show they have a particular tune dedicated to your car, which should give the most significant gains.
