Diffrence in Nav units 2013-2015

I have a 13 335 and yesterday i got a 2015 328 loaner and noticed that the nav software is a bit different than mine... Animations and transitions mainly..

is there an update to be able to run the newest?

If I understand the question correctly, the answer is no. There are both hardware and software differences in the nav units starting around late 2012. The 2013 335's have the old "CIC" nav units ~2008-2013, while the 2014 and later (2015 328 loaner) have "NBT".

Not only will BMW not upgrade software (i.e. add features) for older versions of nav hardware, they will not do so for same hardware prior to a particular production date.

Are you sure? Or is it something specific for 335's?

My 320 is a prod. June 2012, and I have NBT.
My map is "NBT Europe Next".

I thought the NBT came out on the F31 first from Oct 2012 onwards for Europe and then later with the F30.

In the US, NBT was installed beginning with the 2014 3 series, all models, build dates starting July, 2013. Up until then, CIC.

US F10 - all 2013 & up has NBT if you have bigger screen in dash.

No.

If you're in the states, the 2012-2013 Navigation system runs on CIC. 2014 and newer run NBT. They are different iDrive variants.
