Wish the BMW Connected smartphone app was more responsive

It is a good tool to have but it just seems to take ages to perform 1 simple action!
Could also do with more features like horn and maybe even replace the key in total so that you could essentially use your phone to start the car.

What are your thoughts?

BMW makes fantastic automobiles.

BMW does not know how to create well-performing and well-designed software. You're right - their software is embarrassingly bad.

I use it all the time (Android) to send destinations to the car. Not too much for other things but it always works.

Mine is ok for responsivemess, I just wish they would add more features. Like remote start or even roll windows down a few inches to aid with cooling.

I think the app is more useful for the i cars. I can turn the AC on remotely, not just vent, but AC. I can also see state of charge and schedule charging.

I just use it for the navigation feature where I find a destination before ever getting in the car and send it to the car so I can pull it up in the connected drive menu and be on my way, since entering a new destination in the existing nav is garbage. In this sense, the app works well for me

Mine tells me that retrieving the fuel level remotely is supported with my car, but I see no way of getting that to work...

droid amd everything is up to date with my phone. i restart it just about every day

eta uninstalled and reinstalled and it works for now

They released an update about 3 days ago make sure it's up to date then try again

I use it every work day to remotely ventilate the car before I leave. Sometimes I use it for the same thing more than once a day. Been doing this for 3 years during hot weather.

This is the only thing i use it for, but it works quickly 99% of the time.

iPhone here...

Exactly the same for me...destinations. That's it.

Use it almost daily. Love sending address info from phone to car's gps. Also has all the same addresses in history log that your car does. I forgot where I parked the other day and the "locate my vehicle" will walk you to car. The remote ventilation option in the simmering heat is great. When I drop off at at dealer it's nice to check on it's location and mileage sif need be while it's there.

I use it a lot for sending destinations to my car and for turning on the air conditioning. It does take a while but I think that is attributable to the double wireless connection (me to some circuit changer and then on to my car which is on a different carrier). So long ans my car and I have a wireless connection, it has always worked for me.
