I'm just glad this whole thing is now finally...ultimately over. Even though we've all but confirmed it a month ago.

Now everyone stop obsessing over this and go enjoy your amazing rides! I should be getting mine in a few days!!!
I will admit it, it was a pipe dream. Pipe dream is over. No new Nav. And for the record, I should have ordered back in the summer on a 2013. And I didn't. Not sure I learned my lesson as I am now hesitant about an order in the middle of winter. I do not have a car to sell, but at same time, when can i fully realize I am missing out on an awesome car.

It's not just the navigation that gets improved, it's the whole of iDrive including responsiveness and look and feel. It's not a huge deal, but it's significant.

My car will have it and I waited specifically for a Dec build to get it.

Seriously, with the price delta over a 335i at $1K-$2K, I still can't believe it doesn't get more serious consideration from you guys. Especially if you're leasing.

It's not that big of deal. As I don't think idrive is sluggish. But i be worried to have the first of everything. Imagine if it turns out to be a major headache. Remember early adopters usually get the shaft.

Price delta is more than 1-2K unless you want parking assist and other arguably unnecessary toys they threw in to jump start sales of the Chinese battery mobile.

The official delta is an even $3K. And if you can't knock another $1-$2k out of that, you should find another dealer.

Just jabbing you. But, hey it still is the Chinese battery mobile. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/17/bu...nese-firm.html

If delta is $3K and BMW markup is 6-7% how in the world are you gonna get a dealer to give you a 33-66% discount on the delta?

Yes I was wrong on the batteries... They make them both in MI and China, but apparently BMW only uses the Chinese ones. Which is a good thing, because A123 had a $55M recall for the MI made versions

You can get a discount on the delta because most dealers will do near-invoice on an AH3 vs a 335i, simply due to supply and demand. It is common for people to pay $1500+ invoice (before all incentives of course), on the 335i, but you can get much closer to invoice on an AH3.

Um, some recommended reading: http://chinaautoweb.com/2011/04/hang...-catches-fire/

And here's some more good toilet reading: http://www.nfpa.org/assets/files/pdf...rieshazard.pdf

IMO, Lithium Ion is not the answer. Its a toy the industry is playing with. When we see cars using super capacitors, then I'll pay attention.

Maybe this is an issue where you live. Not here.

So I guess we're not talking about the "new Navigation" any longer?

The very latest Sat_Nav system released in the UK/europe in september has a fault which this week BMW have recognised and issued a "PUMA NUMBER" on it.
Mine has this fault my car being two weeks old, the system sends me down roads that are wrong, does not divert and generally is useless.
I am seaking compensation as I write. good luck with your new sat-nav.
The cost here is £2000.00 for the nav, thats two grand of wasted moneys.

I cannot believe there's no plan to sort this out. Does the PUMA case say live with the issues? If so, don't worry, once this new Nav Pro gets more traction in the US, there will be lovely litigation happy US Lawyers all over this for you.

For BMWNA, looks like new Nav Pro is set to begin with 7/2013 production F30's.
