Yeah....I actually got the dimensions since I posted. The box is 84x44x20 (48lbs). Going to try to get a dealership to price match or drop ship to dealership.

That's probably the best way just have the dealer order it for you. Price match with bmwpartspros (but free shipping) which is a dealership in CA. Make sure you give them part numbers for mppsk and exhaust tips so they don't order the wrong one for the 335 since they tend to confuse the two.

When I was wondering about what to do with the stock exhaust I was like.. meh, chuck it.

When taking my brother on a drive around enjoying the gunshots he inquired if doing that too much would destroy the cats.. Anyone know?

Catalytic converters have an 8 year warranty by law. So, I assume it won't harm them because BMW doesn't want to replace extra parts it doesn't have to.

thats the beauty of MPPSK and why it costs premium vs aftermarket systems, it is all designed to work within factory quality parameters... remember if MPPSK is port installed it counts for warranty purposes just like it was installed at the factory and needs to perform as such

While it's not the most cost effective way of doing things, if the exhaust is too loud for folks considering this package, could you sell the cat back exhaust from the kit and swap to the MPE exhaust?

No - just keep in in comfort mode... you still get the performance benefit but no noise... albeit you lose the throttle curve benefit.

Quick question about MPPSK. Correct me if I'm wrong.
In comfort mode, the valves are closed most of time, and the exhaust goes through the rear muffler.
In sport mode, both valves open, and exhaust by pass the muffler.

What I want to do is unplug both valves when they open. By doing so, in comfort mode the exhaust will still goes through the muffler right?
I want to do this because during gears change in comfort, there is some cheap noise going on, probably from the valves, but it goes away in sport mode.

I believe if you unplug the valves while they are open you will essentially just be in sport/sport+ mode the entire time (for the exhaust portion).

You won't have a quite exhaust in comfort mode anymore, and you will also have a ridiculously loud cold start.

But the exhaust will still go through the muffler? Isn't the valves are just two flaps? Don't want the straight pipe cold start lol.

If the valves are open, there's nothing to force the exhaust to go through the restrictive muffler instead of straight out the open tube.

Good Pricing?

Dealer in Boston will do the MPPSK (chrome tips) and the M Performance LSD, installed, for under $5800. Is this on par with what some of you have paid/seen?

340i with the ZTR (track pack), six speed. Basically turning this into a four door M2 with some ride/handling trade off. Couldn't ride around Boston in another car with the M suspension.

I had MPPSK installed Oct 2016 and tried to have the M Performance LSD installed too but I'm xDrive so it wouldn't fit. I was quoted $2092 for the LSD with another $715 for labor. I paid $2400 for the MPPSK and $203 each for the carbon tips. Labor on the exhaust was $187.85 and reprogramming was $150. Your price is $150 below my total so I'd say it's an OK quote. I love my MPPSK and am still bummed the M Performance LSD didn't fit.

I ordered the mppsk from an online parts dealer. Waiting for it to be delivered. Do you guys think the exhaust will fit in a 340i trunk with the seats folded down? Trying to find a way to transport it to the dealer for it to be installed

Don't know about that. Heard it was pretty big. I had my dealer price match the online parts dealer and it was delivered to the dealership.

Dealer I went too won't price match all the way. Online dealer allows me to pay with PayPal credit so I can pay it with no interest in 6 months! Really hope I don't have to rent a Uhaul to get it to the dealer lol

Shoulda had it shipped to the dealer - I can do that with tires if I tell the dealer first and they know they'll get the install fee.

It will fit after you take it all out of the box.
