I have a 2015 435i X-Drive. When I try to register my car in the app BMW connected, it gives me a message "your vehicle can not be added, the embedded cellular technology is not supported." Is there a way I can upgrade this without voiding the warranty? Ultimately I want to be able to use apple car play so I can use my navigation from the phone. I would be very grateful for any info please

It most certainly is supported. I suggest you contact your dealer or ConnectedDrive support to get things sorted.

I believe your car may be 2G which ATT disabled in 2017. If you still had an active connected drive subscription in the free period they offered to upgrade the modem to 3G. If not you're outta luck though their are third parties that can do the upgrade for a fee. Your car does not have car play that feature wasn't available in bmws until MY2017. It can be added or you can do something similar with a third party setup. This could affect warranty coverage on the head unit but this might not be covered under CPO anyway.

If it's a 2015 model it should have 3G, yes? Mine is a 2014 and has 3G, but maybe it was retrofitted... Hmmm...

Yeah it depends on the car maybe it was 2014 that was the cutoff but some SAV models was as recently as 2015 still had 2G. F30 maybe it was 2014 check with an SA I know when you get it new you get 4 years connected drive not sure if it transfers or you have to pay for subscription with CPO.
