Went in for an oil service for my 16' 340 at 8K. When I picked it up at the end of the day, SA said they also reprogrammed the ECU per "recall"...OK, let's see: the steering is heavier in Comfort, the Eng. is louder in Sport, car now is hesitate to move after a dead stop in Comfort, and the fuel range optimistically increased at least 100 miles after each refuel comparing to pre "recall"

Addition: there were at least 7 pages of printouts for the job. SA won't give a copy. Asked my CA to get them for me. The Surround View is much better to detect parking curbs in front to save the M Sport; the Backup Cam is much better to warn car-chasing dogs.

They did that for mine too. It was something to do with the Navigation safe use disclaimer not popping up each time car was turned on. Recall for legal reasons, probably had some moderate bug fixes as well.

At least that was mine a month or so ago

I coded out the disclaimer anyway on my 340i. Let us know how it goes. Anyone have the TSIB for this "recall"?

Definitely not worth it. I had it done When I had my rear deck lid spoiler reinstalled they did it.

Btw. Another topic is how bad BMW adhesive is or how poorly applied they are applied by the port and dealer. At my next service they need re do it again

+1 Port installed spoiler took 2 or 3 tries to finally get it right. It always lifted up on certain parts of the spoiler. Fell off completely once and had to be replaced - first dealer denied warranty claim and second dealer either got it approved or they paid for it themselves.

Mine goes in Wednesday for an 1800 mile break-in oil change (on me) and for a noise inside the steering wheel hub. I'll post back and see if there is any S/W update/flash to report.
My car was built 11/4/15.

Maybe you don't need it, not all cars should be effected if the SW patch happened before your car got in port

I had the software in my 340 updated a month ago and ever since then the throttle response has reduced dramatically. Previously in sport mode I was able to get peak torque with just a tap on the gas. Now i really have to put a good amount of pressure before the car gives me peak torque and it takes longer to build up to it (seen via the sport display). Do you notice the same?

Software reflashes result in all adaptations being set back to "zero". A few hundred miles of driving should get things back where they were prior to the update. If not, take it back to the dealer and request that they look into whatever issue is causing the symptoms you're experiencing.

I've driven about 400 miles since and it hasn't changed. The instant torque with a light tap in sport mode is gone. The M3/M4 forum has a whole thread on this where the they have also noticed this same issue with v58.3 of the firmware.
