I just noticed that you've got the side skirts but without the decals, which is what I am planning on fitting.... Happy with them like that? Haven't been able to see a car in the metal like this, and keep flip-flopping between fitting the vinyl decals and not!
I suspect that's the case. Another bonus of them being fairly dark to start with is they hide brake dust rather nicely, much better than the 403Ms.

Do indeed have the skirts, love them like that, the decals won't last and would need replacing which would a) mean more cost and b) would look tatty until they're re-done. I think they can work on some colours (particularly white) but I reckoned San Marino was a bit too classy for stickers. Plus I wanted as much of that colour on show as possible You also almost always end up with damaged paint at the edge of decals, which again, is something I wanted to avoid. You're welcome to pop down and have a look at the car in the flesh if you'd like?

Any excuse for a photo

+1 love mine

Thanks, that's not a bad idea as I've still not seem the boot spoiler in the flesh yet either. Whereabouts are you?

Digging up an old thread here, so sorry about that.

Did you ever get this done? My 442 ferric don't need a refurb but I was lent a courtesy car with Orbits on last week and really liked it. Just wondered whether it was worth having done myself.

Yes, went for the Orbit grey bi-colour option. Very happy with the choice, as the grey has lovely metallic flecks when clean, yet hides the dirt well when covered in brake dust.

Nice one, might look into it then. I've done some searching and can't seem find that many people who have done it, so nice to know it is a 'thing'.

Terry, did you use The Wheel Specialist in St Albans as planned ? I'm booking my wheel refurb for a couple of weeks' time (new tyres are in my garage, just waiting for the existing rears to be down to the wear indicators) and would be interested in how you got on with them.

Hi Ian, Yes I used them and very, very happy with them. Proper, professional job done, which isn't as easy to find as you might think. They were great to deal with. It's not cheap though, but that's the price you pay for good work done well.

I thought mine looked good in MG but that looks the dogs.
I agree about the 442's. I was unsure when ordering, but now I think they look great.
I also like the fact they are dead easy to clean.

Good to hear. I've been to see them a couple of times to discuss colours for my 403s and they've always come across really well. A bit more expensive than some, but not ridiculously so.

Garage List
Stick to silver! Dark 442Ms (like mine) are common as muck

Absolutely love that colour!!

San Marino?

I had the Ferric Gray wheels on my last car and you're right, they're a bit wishy washy when they're not completely clean. My new one will have the Orbit Gray and I'm looking forward to seeing the difference!

I forgot to ask, is Orbit Grey an all-over powder coat finish or are you having your wheels diamond cut agin ?

I used the Wheel Specialists in Kingston and they were brilliant. Ended up getting "Black Chrome" - one of their standard finishes on my 351's.

Another vote for orbit grey here! I was also reserved about how they would look and thought I wanted the ferric grey finish. However, I am so pleased I have these now - they look great when they're clean and hide the brake dust much better during hard daily use.

They look much better in the darker finish and like already said help hide the slightly too chunky, thicker spoke, giving a much more balanced look to the wheel.

Maybe a flat or satin finish would give you a slightly more custom look?

They were done back in Feb, this thread was resurrected from back then!

At the time they were diamond cut again and so they're exact same as brand new ones would be.
