Give them the deal as a group so they can keep producing some more products, purchase and shipping come separately I assume. I love the lights!

Ok, I'll call them on Monday. Looks like we have approx 15 people interested, but I'll count to double check and subtract a few.

Any additional questions I should ask?

There is one thing that i am curious (ok, worried) about ... see their ad/page below? It seems like between the three options for this headlamp, they are only changing the bulb - from std halogen -> to 5800k color halogen -> xenon - i.e. the projector is the same for all 3 options

From #1 -> #2, no big deal (halogen-to-halogen), but i really hope to god from #2 -> #3 (halogen-to-xenon), they are changing more than just the bulb. The thing that encourages me is that from #2 -> #3, there is a $160AUD price jump, so i'm assuming for that much more money, you are paying for more than just an HID/Xenon bulb. I'm expecting a new/matched projector for the HID/Xenon bulb.

otherwise, epic fail

In a lot of cars that have halogen and HID projectors, the only difference is the mount anyway, I wouldn't really worry. Maybe ask for some beam patterns when they're running with HIDs.

Marshall, first, thanks for taking the lead on this.

My sense is that a group buy should result in a savings in either base cost or shipping. Since the headlights aren't actually made in Australia perhaps they could be drop shipped by the manufacturer. It might be possible to have a shipment to each coast and Europe and then have a volunteer redistribute. I am willing to serve as the east cost volunteer. That should result in a significant reduction in shipping cost.

One thing you might want to confirm with them is that you can specify that the headlights are for a left hand or right hand drive vehicle. Another thing to clarify is if payment is on a group basis or individually.

I do have one other thing you could ask them. Their listing and the photos seem to suggest that the lens is black. I am curious if it is available in clear and if the top of the housing is silver like OEM.

Thanks again for your initiative.

Unfortunately, the light was very poor today and it was hard to do well exposed images

All in all, LEDs DRL looks great. In my opinion, the low beam is slightly better than the OEM, light is distributed more evenly. High beam have shorter range, but I could be wrong. At the end I will say only that I am very happy with the result and the product, but this is my subjective opinion, for someone else, these lights can be rubbish.

I heard back from MARS Performance in regards to the group buy email that I sent them. Their offer is $699 AUD per set plus $200 AUD shipping per set. They will accommodate separate payment and shipping. The estimate that I used for this initial inquiry was 15 sets.

The also said that they could knock off $50 per set if we got to 30 sets.

Sounds like a reasonable offer, but if we can go directly to the source I think that is what we should do.

nice find :-) I got back an email from Mars saying they won't have any more headlights until April, and i'm assuming that's because the supplier is currently sold out. I coulda swore Mars said their supplier is in Taiwan, though, but i can't find the reference now.

@johny1904 - very nice pics! Very sweet... did you opt for the halogen projectors or xenon projectors? It looks like xenon based on the sharp cutoff on the last picture (can halogens even produce such a defined cutoff?)

I am a relative Noob when it comes to lighting. The biggest issue I have with my halogens is poor performance compared to my own xenons. Many of the roads in michigan do not have street lights and thus the brightness of the halogens or lack thereof is an issue. Apart from giving the car angel eyes does this actually increase the brightness of the light output? Is it for both low and high beam? Sorry for the basic questions.

I dont think that is how the projector works guys and gals. I believe the headlight housing with the projector and led drl are same whether you want halogen or xenons. The only dofference is that if you order the xenon they include a hid kit with bulb and ballast that you mount/install yourself into the housings. The regular halogen one you would just put in a halogen bulb and not have to mount a hid ballast somewhere.
