Dealer install or independent mech

Need some input. I'm havimg the m performance brake and suspension installed on my 335i Msport. Should I do a dealer install or independent mechanic. I have a trusted independent and the price to install is less than 1/2 of the dealer price. I'd still maintain the 2 years parts warranty Any thoughts or suggestions? Mostly concerned about warranty. I have read that the brakes require a coding also.

Thanks

*M Performance parts carry the New Vehicle Limited Warranty if they were installed prior to delivery to the client. If the installation is made after the retail sale of the vehicle, the accessory will be warranted for the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period or two years from its date of installation, whichever is greater.

I'm sure this carries over on extended BMW warranties too...so the extra cost of keeping warranty is worth IMO.

The M-performance brakes need coding after installation.

I will update when things are installed. Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning toward dealer install because of warranty and coding. Hope I can get a reasonable price. The suspension is due for delivery the 9th so it may be a couple weeks before I can post an update.

I read before the M performance suspension did not come with the springs needed and you had to order seperate. Was this the case for you?

There are two components to the M Perf Suspension:
1. Suspension Kit - struts/bump stops/etc: $1500 or so.
2. Spring Kit - $500 or so.

You need both, as I learned the hard way...

Yes, & if the car didn't come with sports suspension from the factory then u'll also need both anti-roll bars.

Suspension kit ordered from Tischer. Gave them my vin and info. I'm sure they'll get it right. They ordered the springs as well. It's scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

I don't have adaptive. Figured I'd be lowering the car and didn't want to hassle with electric dampening. The ride is pretty cozy as it is for me. I think I can stand the increased stiffness from this kit just fine. Should get rid of some body roll and lower the car 10mm.
