C&D shows the Accord coupe MT at 5.6 to 60, and the 1/4 in 14.0 @ 103mph. The sedan with AT at 5.6 to 60, 1/4 in 14.1 @ 101, 0-100 in 13.9 Interestingly the AT pretty much matches the MT, and the sedan weighs about 153lbs more. Different day, different conditions, but good showing for either model. The 328i Sport AT they tested achieved 5.6 to 60, 1/4 mile in 14.2 98mph, 0-100 in 14.7. 328i owners - be careful when running against the new Honda family hauler, and sport coupe. At higher speed the Accord make walk you if you don't hook up the launch. |

I don't know if anyone caught it, but this comparison was on Motorweek this week. The specifically stated up front they asked the manufacture to choose the specs/configuration of the car as long as it was under $46K.
The BMW won because of its street and track performance, interior comfort, large trunk and great MPG. Not sure how you can argue that, but they did say the competition is much tighter than 10 yrs ago. That is a win for everyone IMO. |

BMW 328 prevails in Cars.com/MotorWeek $46k sports sedan shootout
The narration is done by some guy who sounds like a game show announcer, but the 328 takes first place in this extraordinarily unscientific test!
But 6.6 sec 0-60? Say what? |

This is old news, it was discussed before anyway.
All the times were off, don't know if it was heat or high elevation or lack of professional driving.

No. Wot in any mode is the same. Stomp the pedal in ECO PRO and see for yourself...the throttle dampening is there at lesser throttle inputs.

I could see this at steady state, but isn't there a difference in the immediate response, even if you hit the kickdown?

Foot to the floor is the same in any mode, every other throttle input in between has a dampening to it. Not sure how else to explain it, you have to feel it. Speaking to tuners like BMS, they explained you can dyno in any mode and make the same power because you are WOT on the dyno.
