2012 M Performance Power Kit.

Hello folks.

I recently purchased a 2012 CPO 335i. The car was built in 2011 and the M Performance Power Kit is no longer available (At least one cannot order it). Does anyone around these parts know what is going on with this particular kit?

I have also read that our automatic was not designed for more than roughly 330 ft-lbs, is that a correct statement?

Have you asked your dealer? I don't see any problem on http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...CE/11/11_5180/.

Mine is a MY2012 build in 2011 as well. I got the MPPK last fall without any issues at all.

Its available. Any dealer should be able to get it. Wouldn't worry about the transmission. Burger is putting over 500rwhp through it and it hasn't broken yet.

Tried to order it last week and they could not even get an ETA through their system. They guy called me back the following day trying to offer me a DINAN deal. I am not sure what the deal on the DINAN would be as I have not called them back, but I am curious if they offer me some good deal on the DINAN should I go with that instead. I do not want to loose my CPO Warranty.

How come the dealer cannot get it. They showed me and they had 0 on their system showing availability. They are also giving me like 20% off so it comes to a cheaper price than ECS.

The 0 just means they don't have it in stock in the regional or national warehouse. They can order it from BMW in Germany.

Just get the bms stage 1 for $379 or the jb4 and just cut to the chase. If you go the Mppk route, then your next post will be asking if they installed it correctly because you're not sure you feel and difference.

If I get the M-PPK and I do not see a difference, then I will take it back to the dealer and have them look at it. Also comments like that are not welcome, so check yourself.

30 HP is a noticeable difference. I would now, I have tuned cars in the past. And I would rather keep my warranty and not worry about having to remove the BMS or JB4. Also the M-Performance is highly underrated.

Highly underrated? Ok. Just trying to save you a few bucks while increasing performance but sounds like you know all, except where to find the Mppk. You better check yo self before you wreck yo self.

Early 90's Rap quotes would probably put this man somewhere in his 30's to early 40's if I had to venture a guess. (Unless he's one of those generation Y kids who quotes shit from before he was born and thinks the irony of cheesy rap from the 90's is ha ha funny). Nonetheless, that shit is funny to people our age and he's totally right. JB4 is beyond just a noticeable difference for our cars and best bang for the buck HP/TQ wise.
Also OP, not sure if this would work for your car because it was technically produced in 2011, but if you can get the Cobb AP for N55 2011's to work with your car, jump all over that shit. It's like best thing since sliced bread because it can be portuned.

OP, is your body style the F30?
If so, this will work, I'm an early 2012 build and PPK has been working on my car.

You would be correct that it wasn't "designed" to handle more than 330 ft lbs of torque.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission

Many cars however handle well over double their design tolerances. I have yet to hear about anyone blowing their ZF 8A due to excess power below 400 ft lbs.

The good news if the transmission does go, it looks like there are any more tangible alternatives that you could throw in for dirt cheap.

Yeah, you nailed it. Haha! Op told me to check myself and the first thing that came to mind was that rap song, haha. I haven't heard that phrase since the early 90's.

I have a 2012 F30 335i and I had the MPPK installed last Fall and it works great. If you have the same model you will need a new DME along with the MPPK for it to work properly. You may also want to ask the Dealer if they know how to code the new DME to work properly with the MPPK. For the 2012 F30 models it is a PITA to program it properly. My dealer had to have my car programmed remotely from Toronto several times before they got it to work properly.

Yeah, need a new DME. I have looked into the install and the dealer claims to know how to reprogram the new DME. I am also looking to see if the COBB AP will work, but I doubt it.

Thank you all thus far for the inputs.
