The lines are more a coordinated set of aesthetics. This essentially enforces a look for the sportier model. Suspension & sport seats should be an independent variable. I could see requiring sport suspension and seats on the Sport Line but not restricting on others. |

Anyone notice the front seats SHAPE for each lines? LOOK AGAIN...
Quote:
Dont try to get everything at once... just pick out the three or four items that you must have and that you just cannot compromise, or live without, then go from there and see how they are being packaged. It's organized very illogically, yet you can sort it out once you have your own priorities. And yes i agree with everyone, BMW choice's list is not as independently customizable as they are suggesting us to be. It doesn't give you the freedom of choice as we would like or as in the MINI catalogue, and that's even a far cry from easy either... unless you go the "Individual" exclusive line How much extra is that anyway? Anyone knows that? Quote:
when you compare the interior of each model line, especially the seats between the Sport, Modern, and Lux lines, I personally do not see the difference in SHAPE! of the seats, they all seems to be exactly the same. What i am trying to say is that BMW might be screwing us (pardon my fluent french) ... but at the same time they are helping us. Let me explain again. If anyone could confirm that they are seeing what i am seeing first? And if so, i would like to point out that if those seats in the three lines are exactly the same (shape), it would means that they are all sport seats, shape to hug your body and support you the way it should be (in the traditional sense of the "bmw sport seat" terms). Which means that BMW might have choosen to drop the "regular unsupporting" front seats, in favor of having all their F30 cars give the drivers By Default an enjoying cabin experience. The only things that i see different in each lines, (as far as seats are concerns) are the stitchings, the form of the leather cuts, the color obviously and the material for each lines... BUT again the SHAPE is the same for all line: sport seats as standard Anyone catch my drift why put standard seats if anyone buying a BMW wants sport seats for the sporting experience ANYWAYS? At least if another soul can confirm what i am saying please ? I would feel less lonely... But for now, i am ordering an F30 Luxury Line (No sport packaged ) and yet i am confident i will be seating on seats THAT are/will be as supportive as all you who are getting the Sport Line (or even Modern Line as a matter) that's what i am hoping... Quote:
I wish i could get the Sport Suspension with my luxury line that i am ordering on my 335i... but at least, as said above, i am getting the "Sport Seats" by default. (that's what i am betting and believe it to be) |

All of the vehicles you've seen in photos so far are equipped with the standalone option "481 Sport Seats, Front". But this option is not included in the Modern Line or Luxury Line packages for the US. Nor can you order it as a standalone option in the US. So if you order one of these packages, you will be getting non-sport seats. The non-sport seats are basically just like the ones currently offered on the E90 - no adjustable thigh cushion, smaller bolsters, etc. If you want to see what it looks like... take a stroll over to the BMW UK site and configure a Luxury Line. Look at the interior shot and you can clearly tell the seats are non-sport. Then go to the Optional Equipment tab and under Interior Equipment, check "Sport Seats, Front". Then go back and look at the seats... now you're seeing what is in all the press photos. But again, since this option is not available in the US cars (except with Sport Line), you won't get it. Sorry. |

Does anyone have the BMW dealer pricing sheets for ED yet?
I like to negotiate up from the dealer prices, rather than down from ED MSRP. Also, does anyone know if options and packages are also discounted on the ED pricelist? When I bought my E90 in '05 on ED, not only was the base price discounted, the options were, too. But in the price list at the top of this thread, only a discounted ED MSRP for the base car (not options and packages) is listed. It's my experience that BMW dealers in the Boston area argue that one should pay ED MSRP "as it's already discounted." However, ED and US delivery are two different price lists, so an ED price should be negotiated from the ED price list without reference to "discount" from the US price list. BTW, if you are a BMW dealer and are willing to negotiate a price for ED from the ED price list, please PM me. I have already booked my trip to Munich for July, 2012. I'd like to get the order in ASAP. |

There is an invoice price for each option as well.
See www.bmwconfig.com, the F30 is now up there. Check around, there are board sponsors that will do Normal buy or ED at invoice "plus", though I do not know what the "plus" is for early orders on F30. |

this may have already been asked, but if you get ZPP + ZSL you don't have to pay $1450 for leather because its included in ZPP correct?

Looking at BMW first time
Hi
I do not own a BMW, but in the last week I test drove BMW 328i, AUDI 2012 A4, MERC 2012 C-250 (were offering 1.99%) I am looking forward to buy 2012 BMW 328i Sedan. Please answer the following if you know.. 1. Does the BMW offer base without any line options (sports/modern/luxury), if so what does this include and do you think dealerships order such cars? If not it seems like you have to pay min 2500 (Sports line is cheaper than all) 2. Does base come with default display panel, the one that sticks out? i understand it has no navigation. 3. Right now it seems like there is no more wooden trim levels as standard, can we only order that without any package? 4. Like other cars, do BMW sell close or lesser to invoice price? |

All the more reason for me to buy it here in the US while I still live here, that is if I will end up buying it.. I'm kind of bummed by the lack of options we can get here compared to my old country :/ |

Looking at these prices I can see why you Americans have managed to add so many extras and packages. In the UK we are paying so much more. Just look at these comparisons:
328i Base - USA $35,000 / UK $47,000 335i Luxury - USA $44,000 / UK $60,000 |
