yeah they look ok... depending on the color.
All in all i would just get new emblems. It sounds dumb but my buddy had overlays on his car and people kept taking them off (may just be a stroke of bad luck on his part however)

Did black carbon fiber overlays on my black e90. looked cool, but labels yourself (aka makes you a target for being keyed, sadly)
i should note that the ones I used weren’t vinyl and had an adhesive on them, so they also destroyed the emblem when I tried to remove them

Really don't understand the mentality of the this thread. Why is it that people that own a beautifully engineered and great driving car want to deface the manufacturer's badge? Because that is what you are doing. The blue in the roundel represents the colours of Bavaria and the history of the company. I guess people will also mess with the prancing horse on a Ferrari, change the badge on a Porsche, etc. Honestly!!! Spend your money on something worth well like a power kit, suspension tuning etc.

My friend just bought a 52piece CF set off eBay for 8$. I put them on his car for him. They don't look bad at all u just have to align them properly. I would go with real emblems but for the time it's not bad.

I bought the blacked out emblem 328i from another member. Nearly identical to OE and looks great blacked out. Obviously installs with double sided tape. Surely there are more of these somewhere. Has to be easier than overlays.

Overlays
Sorry, I misunderstood, I now see the discussion is on the BMW Logo not the rear emblem, 328i or 335i. There are actually a lot of places that offer those pre-cut overlays. A few years back when I was getting wheels/tires upgraded on my 750Li, the wheels were black centered and when I came back to pick up the car, they had not only put overlays on the BMW logo center caps but also on the front and rear logo of the hood and trunk. That was the first time I had seen that and was pretty impressed because while I do like the BMW Roundel with blue, the overlays really tied the whole car together and it was a subtle change that only car guys would notice.
My opinion and my opinion only so no offense meant but I think they really only look right on White, Black or Silver cars. I tried them on our grey 550 and didnt like it, tried them on our blue 328 F30 and didnt like it. As you said elrey, easily removable if necessary. Quote:

Not a big fan of the overlays but we just had a customer who wanted them done. I must say they came out looking pretty good, I prefer these over purchasing different emblems.

My point exactly, no need to purchase emblems and possibly scratching the paint installing them, and if you dont like them afterwards they can be gone in minutes. Inexpensive and Subtle if subtle colors are chosen.
