F30 Roof Rack? (Thule or Yakima)
I bike (road and mountain) a lot and I've come to the conclusion that the trunk rack is just not cutting it for me.
So I'm in hopes someone has either the Thule AeroBlade or Yakima Whispbar setup that wouldn't mind snapping a few pictures for me. Aesthetics is important so what I'm really interested in is how high/low each one sits, though I'm having a heck of a time finding good images for either. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Go with the OEM bars with the OEM bike rack I have that set up and have had no issue, looks great and noise is not as bad as I expected.

went with the Thule Aero myself. I find those parts to be of higher quality than the OEM....but that's just me.

I liked Thule since they carry a life time warranty on their products but it's just a personal preference, on other hand Yakima Whispbar is also quiet with a nice finish.
My current set up is BMW base with Thule racks.

KGIL, That Thule setup looks great, nice and low profile. Was it the extra room that made you decide to go with through bars instead of the flush?
The price of the OEM gear is nice, but the towers are just simply enormous.

To be honest, I went with this setup because it was one of the few racks that was going to fit well on my 2002 M5. When I sold that car, I simply got new footpads for the 3-series. I've had the rack for several years and I just trusted the bike shop to set me up with the best system for carrying 3-bikes.
My greatest motivation for going with a roof rack was because I couldn't put a trailer hitch on the M5. It's really convenient, but if I had to do it over again, I'd seriously look at a Kuat hitch-mounted rack. They're very discreet and easy to take on and off.......and IMHO the car looks so much nicer without a rack. That's just me. I haul my bikes around quite a bit and I do like the convenience of easy trunk access. I just have a lot invested in this current setup and I'm too cheap to go out and install a hitch and buy a rack.
